Norway Battle Report:

The invading Saxons (Woken) were thrown back into the sea by very aggressive Vikings (Tschemo) that apparently didn't know that they were on the defensive! Tschemo completely handed my ass to me and won both matches. Congratulations Tschemo !

Goose already knows the result - I bring this report to your attention:

May not have been the fastest or the most dominant.
But nobody did it with more viking style!

Took longer to make this than to play the actual match. Glad I didn't know that beforehand. ;)

I love this. Absolutely love this kind of stuff.

I think I found the one person who may love this game more than me to invest this kind of time and energy into a match. God Bless you Lifeever. I am facing Rishat for round 3, but I would love to face off against you for round 4 just so we get an opportunity to share in our enjoyment of this game.

You appear to be super adept having beaten your opponents in round 1 and 2, so if you keep up this streak and I can manage Rishat I think we might have to face off. ;)

Keep this kind of stuff up, because it is amazing and makes my AAR reports look pedantic.

Round 2 Results Norway

Post by goose_2 »

OK, I know I had to make some command decisions regarding the time scale to complete Norway, but I need to move on to Round 3 as I am busy setting up matches and hope to post tomorrow morning unless I cannot finish before work. (I am trying people.)

Round 3 will have until Holy Saturday 3/31/18 to finish the match so almost a full month to complete. (You do not need to take all the time allowed as if everyone finishes early I can post Rounds sooner.) My Hope is that I will be able to post Round 4, France, on Easter Sunday.

As far as Round 5 with votes coming in almost 3 to 1 it will be Greece for Round 5, moving on to Barbarossa for Round 6.

God bless you for widening the time frame for the next round! That really helps with the fun in the game.

Speaking of god: What happened to staying Lutherian - at least in the announcement for round 3? I mean I get it... war can do this to people, but war games too?

It's actually Life-Fever... spoken. Not a mispelled Live-(for)-ever. But without the capital F it stands for fail..

Thanks for the offer - I don't want my learning curve to look like the flight curve of an AA shell. Sounds great up until the point of explosion without any impact.
I want easy competition. ;) Climbing the ranks, honing my craft. But we'll see what happens.. ("Good luck ducking the guy who makes the matches...")

At least I got the whole lobby of Austrian players behind me who are always ready to boycott this Tourney, right boys? ... ... Boys?
Yeah right.

Some updates due to no shows

Also to add, if any reloading goes on I expect to be notified only from Slitherine that the particular offender has been eliminated. End of discussion on that matter, no more reloads, simply follow steps laid out or suffer the consequences.

Players should be playing both sides subsequently and you will have until Saturday, March 31st, 2018 to complete your match so I can set up Round 4. (France)

Again the Rules for winning:

How do you win a scenario?
Winning conditions will be based on the following:
1) Who wins the match up first. IE: You are playing your opponent and you get the last victory Objective on Turn 12, they do it on Turn 13 You win because you were faster.

2) If you both win on the same day, then it will be determined based on who has the most 2ndary Objectives. IE: You both win on Turn 12, but you have 4 2ndary Objectives and your opponent has only 3. You win because you took over and held more stuff.

3) If you both win on the same day and have the same number of 2ndary Objectives. It will come down to who ends with the most prestige to determine the winner. IE: You both win on the same day and with same number of objectives taken, but you have 500 in prestige and they have 499, you win because of your asset management.

So...If both opponents lose as the Germans, than it will come down to how much territory the Germans were able to maintain.
Starting with Primary Objectives:

1) You have 3 Primary and your opponent has 2 Primary...You win.
If those are the same...
2) It will then come down to 2ndary Objectives. You and your opponent both have 2 Primary Objectives, but you have 1 2ndary and your opponent has none. You win.
If those are the same...
3) If those end up being the same, the 3rd condition will be a little different, it will come down to how many surviving units you have on the map, not prestige.
So, you have 2 Primary and your opponent has 2 Primary and you both have no 2ndary Objectives, but you have 5 units remaining, 4 infantry and 1 tank, and your opponent has 4, 2 tanks and 2 inf...you win.

Let me know if there are any questions.

Blessings on your match ups, and as always...Stay Lutheran My Friends!

Wow, didn't read forum for couple of weeks and it really got hot around here. StefanDK, I had exactly the same problem and found exactly same solution with save-load. I was doing it many times when I played Poland just to see replay. I'm pretty much sure it is software issue. Killing process would definitely raise the flag while save-load is pretty much normal process specially if you have "chess" mood and every turn takes you couple of hours of thinking :)

StefanDK wrote:About needing to reload multiple times: Last summer I started having the issue with replay freezes, but sound continuing so I would miss almost every single replay. At the time I too believed I was forced to close the Panzer Corps process through task manager so I did this over and over again. That annoyed me a lot, but at least I knew I was not cheating since all I did was reloading the game to see the replay. But I got flagged by the admins and I was chocked to get notices that I would be banned and such.

Then I found a workaround for the replays to work: Save the game to the server immediately after the "missing replay" load. Then reload the game from the server and 95 per cent of the times I was then able to see the replay. It is extremely annoying to waste time like that, and Goose has advised that you could close all irrelevant processes and such, but I believe it is a flaw in the game, not my setup. It has been this way since one of the Windows 10 major updates (Creators Update 2017 spring I think) and in my experience it does not exist on Windows 7.

So I advise everyone NOT to quit the game process the hard way and reload from the server since this WILL get you banned sooner or later. And I believe Goose is right that there should be no tolerance because it can be used to cheat although I swear I never did such a thing.

So: Save the game to the server and reload, do it once more if need be and then you should be able to get the full replay. Or reinstall Windows 7 :-)

Tournament doesn't specify how long your turn suppose to be 2-3 minutes or 2-3 hours. So if there is no reboots during 1 hour turn it is 100% legit.
a432 wrote:Because you can take your entire turn in that long of a time. You only need about 2-3 minutes max to scout the entire map, do all your attacks and see how the dice rolls work. Then you crash the program or unplug your internet and reload the same turn. You now know the position of every enemy unit and the combat results of many initial attacks. So you may then choose different attacks and not get ambushed.

10 hours left to join...or be eliminated..

Post by goose_2 »

Ok, Time is running out to start Round 3. (If you have already started nevermind this email/post.)

If you have not, you have exactly 10 hours to respond to this email/post, otherwise if your opponent informs me that your scenario has not been started then you will be eliminated and I will set your opponent up with another player.

I need to put my foot down as everyone needs an opportunity to play their match, some match ups are almost done, including mine. :(

So, please join your battle in the next 10 hours, if you have not otherwise done so, or you will be eliminated.

For those waiting, let me know after 10 hours from this post/email, that your opponent has not started, and I will set you up with someone else.
