Order of Battle: Sandstorm is coming!
1941. Erwin Rommel is appointed commander of the newly created Deutsches Afrika Korps, with the goal of supporting Italy in their campaign against the Allied forces in North Africa.
It is the beginning of a great military campaign which will show the world the military genius of Rommel, a series of great accomplishments which will earn him the immortal nickname of the Desert Fox.
Order of Battle: Sandstorm, the new DLC in the Order of Battle series, will let you relive those years.
You will need exceptional strategical ability to succeed in the brand new campaign – one of the longest ever in Order of Battle, 14 scenarios! Beware, you will be outnumbered and time is against you. Deceive your enemy, then outmaneuver and vanquish them before you run out of supplies.
Sandstorm greatly expands the roster of Italy, adding many unique units as well as specializations. It also introduces a brand new terrain type to Order of Battle, Arid, as well as new terrain rules to represent the hazards of fighting in a desert environment (has anyone mentioned sandstorms?).
Sandstorm is currently in development and it’s about to enter Beta. If you would like to follow its development and give us a hand in testing it, please apply for the beta here.
We will show you more of the DLC soon, so stay tuned!

There will be landing of the Axis troops on Malta, as shown by the first screenshots.

Marvelous! Now, dont rush things, take your time, Artistocrats. And everybody sign up to the beta.
Also, those Stukas and Wehrmacht may need a bit more desert camo, if possible. (Black clothes in the desert heat...inhuman.)

Those coastlines . . . those neighboring road hexes . . . they . . . they're beautiful again! Say, is this real or have these screenshots been photoshopped?

Units performing their combat animations simultaneously in a turn-based game leads me to the same conclusion that the images may be slightly doctored. However, one can still be hopeful that things are fixed, given the long list of issues that Shards supposedly maintains!

Will it be possible to shift command points from Italy to Germany?

Re: Order of Battle: Sandstorm is coming!
I just applied for the beta. Hope I get a shot at it and it's a little more developed than Panzerkrieg was. Rommel on the move again!
Re: Order of Battle: Sandstorm is coming!
First off: thumbs up for another campaign !!!
Will this be a strict "historic" campaign (like Blitzkrieg and Panzerkrieg are) going from El Agheila to El Alamein or even Tunis? Or will we get the see some hypothetical scenarios with this campaign again, giving us the chance to change a bit of history?

Re: Order of Battle: Sandstorm is coming!
Malta has been announced as a hypotetical scenario.
I hope that they will add at least one battle for Egypt/Alexandria hypotetical as well.

Re: Order of Battle: Sandstorm is coming!
I absolutely love the North Africa Campaign, historically one of the most strategic of WW2 with limited resources, key naval blockades, challenging air support and 2 great Generals and always on a knife edge, seesawing back and forth. The 3 factions also make it more intriguing. A great choice for next DLC in my opinion...... plus loads of new units for our creative player community to use going forward.
