More than seems to be French . . . Olivier--the guy who wrote the spreadsheet--is a Frenchman. He is not just showing off. :D

Once you download the spreadsheet (I suggest the "tournoi" version) you can pick the language that you want to use.

normally, the download is set in english.
On the spreadsheet you have a cell named language, choose your favorite language with the menu.

Very nice work congrats only one problem the spreadsheet does not have any points for heavy weapon, the drop down box allows you to select it but it does not add in any points for that melee weapon. eg

men at arms HF/ Arm/ sup/ heavy weapon by your spreadsheet 11 points but the army list book it is listed as 13 points

As Heavy weapons are also impact, the point for them are added when you choose them in the impact drop down box.
your men at arm are effectively HF/ Arm/ Sup/ -/ HW/ HW

Drop Down Text too small

Post by johno »

How can I change the size of the text in the drop-downs?

The entries are very small and hard to read, except at 100%, and then you can't see enough of the columns to be usable.

I find I need to scale the sheet to 65% to be able to see all the columns on my screen.

Thanks for providing such a useful tool.

Sorry,....but I don't know how to change the size of the drop-downs ( normally and with a normal 15"screen, it's easily readable at 85%)

The font size in a drop down can't be changed. You can write some code to change the zoom when the cell is selected, or put a combo box over it, but it would be easier for the user to zoom in.

I have made three useful changes to the version I use.

* Added a movable text box across the bottom right below the total bases cell (added that too in the bases column) in which I describe the reason for the army structure and order of march, deployment strategy overall and by deployment group, alternative troop mixes, etc. so it's all on one page.

* Copy the total points number to the upper left on the last commander line so I can increase the zoom and get the unit sums off screen but keep the total visible at all times. As I don't have a giant screen this makes the screen more readable.

* In addition to order of march, I have a deployment group column right after that with 1st, 2nd, 3 or 4 to make it easy to see the groups - of course if I manually cut and past to put everything in the right order this is not necessary.

OK, that's actually 4 changes . . . .

I increased the font size and that seemed to make a difference - it's certainly easier to read now.

It had the added advantage of making the printed copy easier to read, as well.

I keep the headers in view by freezing the pane

Oliver

It is a great spread sheet, But how do I add the names of the armies whose books I have to the drop down list.

I can't seem to find the data tables the forumlas are pulling from.

1) Choose your army book in the dropdown menu in the cell "Book name"
2) Write the page number under the cell "Page number" ( page number are found in the index of each army book)

Firstly thanks for a great, helpful, tool!!

A note though:
Have some trubles with BGs of 6HF+3LF. They show correct for the HF. But its a bit annoying that there is an error message on the LF.

Did you give the LF the same order of march number on their line as the HF? That is how the macros identify them as belonging to the same BG.
