Did you also do aircraft skins...'cause that skin on the BF-110? looks great

I would like to prepare the camouflages for aircraft, but it is impossible at this moment.
Camouflages are only available for land units (and not for all of them :( )

9. Barbarossa Guderian Panzergruppe June/July 1941

Post by kondi754 »

The beginning of the campaign in the east, I chose the units from the Guderian armored group (Panzergruppe), because Blitzkrieg DLC shows the battles in the middle section of the Eastern front, where the main actor until the winter 41/42 was - first of all - "fast Heinz" and his panzer divisions.
The first one will be 10th Panzer Division, which just arrived in the town of Slonim in Belarus and closed 2 Soviet armies in the Bialystok pocket.
10th PzDiv counted at the beginning of the campaign in June 1941: 45 Pz II, 105 Pz III (with 50mm gun), 20 Pz IV, 12 PzBfwg

10. Barbarossa Guderian Panzergruppe June/July 1941

Post by kondi754 »

The second unit from Guderian panzer army is the excellent 4th Panzer Division, which we see in the suburbs of Minsk, 8 days after the beginning of the invasion !!!
4th PzDiv equipment in June 1941: 44 Pz II, 31 Pz III (37mm), 74 Pz III (50mm), 20 Pz IV, 8 PzBfwg
It is worth mentioning that 4th PzDiv was probably the best German armored division during World War II. This division has never been shattered and has never been withdrawn from the front for reorganization and reinforcements. This unit was called the "fire brigade" of the eastern front nad became famous in defensive battles in 1943-44.

Awesome work but the agc41pzdiv4_land_germany and the agc41pzdiv10_land_germany are difficult to distinguish.
Here is a screenshoot with both skins :

It seems to me it's very similar painting - 10th pzdiv vehicles have traces of dried mud and dust on the armor, while 4th pzdiv diesel oil stains
The top 5 vehicles are the 4th division and the lower ones are the 10th
Just to be clear - in fact, up until 1943 and the Kursk battle (with minor exceptions) painting of German vehicles in Europe were simply the different shades of the same color "dunkelblau".
Only in the years 1943 to 1945 will occur an explosion of German art of camouflage
Let's say the similarity is intentional...
Incidentally, to make camouflage something different, for example during the French campaign, I also used camouflage with green-brown spots on standard vehicle painting, while these camouflages are highly debatable and some specialists believe that there is no evidence that they were used before 1942 (eg. Jean Restayn). Others on the other hand, they believe that it was a regular camouflage of armored units since 1937... Honestly, wait for the battle at Kursk, then camouflages will be much more interesting

Ok, I modified the skins a bit to make them more different... More stains from mud and diesel oil
Can it be like this?

For a better test, the two variants should be put on the same image to see if we can distinguish the units of the different panzerdivisions ?

Panzergruppe Guderian re-worked

Post by kondi754 »

Below 2 upgraded skins for two panzer divs (10th & 4th) from Pzgr Guderian, June/July 1941
(these are camos for Minsk, Smolensk and Kyev scns)

I tried to improve the elements that distinguish these two divisions from each other, but on the other hand I didn't want to overdo it
I hope mud and engine oil stains are strong enough to distinguish both units

If there is a '43 skin available I could add a trigger to use this in the first scenario in the 43 campaign.
That would be cool.

What is the first scenario of this campaign?
I understand that it's about winter camouflage or maybe painting of tanks from the period of the Battle of Kursk?
I think I have a lot of skins from 1943

The German East 43 campaign revolves around Kursk, starting with the German attack at Kharkov and ending with the Soviet attempt to liberate Kiev.
