Reserve places are now available . . .

Post by stockwellpete »

If you wish to be considered as a reserve please put your name down in this thread with the sections that you want to play in. You do not need to choose an army at this stage. I will contact you by PM if a place becomes available. It is worth doing this as reserves are often called upon to play, sometimes even 4-5 weeks after the tournament has started.

Hello. Welcome to the FOG2DL. :D

As a new player you can enter up to three sections. You have got a definite place in Late Antiquity and I am going to put you down as a reserve in the Themed Event and Classical Antiquity.

I am working very hard to get the numbers in the Themed Event up from 12 to 16 so that I can have 4 qualifying groups of 4 players as usual. So it is very likely that you will get a place in this section as well. The format in the Themed Event is different from the other league sections is very different. In the league sections you play a guaranteed 9 matches. In the Themed Event you play 3 qualifying group stage matches and if you finish in the top 2 places you qualify for the knock-out stage. Then you play paired games (2 matches) in the quarter-finals, semi-finals and final. So, depending on how well you do, you could end up playing 3, 5, 7 or 9 matches in the Themed Event.

The Classical Antiquity section is already full so someone will have to drop out for you get a place. It does happen sometimes so we'll just have to wait and see.

Hello Nick. I can put you down as a reserve in both those sections. I do have vacancies in Late Antiquity and the Themed Event still available if they are of interest.

"Wolves at the Gate", the new DLC that will massively increase the number of armies available in the Early Middle Ages section, will be released on Thursday May 30th. Therefore, play in the Early Middle Ages section will start on Saturday June 8th so that players have about a week to purchase the new DLC and familiarise themselves with it. This will mean that players will still have nine weeks to complete all their matches.
