Anyone playing klayeckles at the moment?
I am doing the Time Control check this week and I am not sure if klayeckles has started any matches in Classical Antiquity or Late Antiquity (both Division A). Anyone have a match in progress with him please?

Division C
Sunnyboy (Ostrogoths 493-561 AD) beat Doyley50 (Roman 24 BC-196 AD) 54-29
A real struggle to stretch the lead to 25% and only secured the win with 2 turns to spare. Every time the Ostrogoths stretched the lead out, the Romans led by their fierce Praetorian cohorts would chew through another Ostrogothic shield wall and tighten the contest up again.
Thanks for the game, well played!

Thanks Martin and Harvey. That's good to know. One less problem to worry about.

ruskicanuk - Indo-Greeks 175-10 BC defeats youngr - Roman 219-200 BC, 61 - 38, very interesting battle across a nasty river which aided the fragile Indo-Greek archers, gg youngr
Good game indeed. To and fro for a long time until the Romans fell in defeat

Division B
Geffalrus (Polish with Viking Allies) defeats Nijis (Arab) 42-6. Good game to my opponent.
Still figuring out the pros and cons of this Polish hybrid army. This time around I took advantage of my substantial hill by bringing a mass of massed archers. Protected by a shieldwall screen, they barraged the advancing Dailami and Ghilman of the advancing Arabs, disrupting the Dailami and autobreaking a general and his Ghilman bodyguard. The Arab Naffatun and light troops successfully drove the Polish skirmishers out of the forest covering the left flank, before dropping some literal bombs on the Huscarls guarding the hill. Combined with Bedouin lancers and more Veteran Dailami, they came close to breaking the impromptu hill fort. Unfortunately for the Arab army, their left flank combo of massed archers, raw spears, and Ghilman were overwhelmed by Viking warriors, more archers, and aggressive Polish cavalry. The raw spears lacked the morale to withstand the ensuing chain rout.
The Polish left wobbles while the right surges to victory.

My game with uneducated is now underway. I had missed it, though, so thanks for the heads-up, Pete.

Re: The first Time Control check is next Sunday June 23rd . . .
Things are looking very good for the first Time Control check. A couple of players have had holidays in the first weeks of the tournament and they have matches under way now. I just have one more group PM to send out, but it doesn't look like we will be losing anyone at this stage.
