Chaos Tourney

Post by Karvon »

A few weeks ago in another thread, the idea came up for a potluck based competition. In other words, both armies and terrain would be set to potluck. At least a couple of people expressed interest at the time, so I thought I'd open a thread here and see how many people would actually sign up to play in such a tourney?

Given the nature, I'm not expecting a lot of interest, so figure we'd likely just have one division and play each opponent once. If the number is small, say 6 or less, then maybe play each opponent twice.

In any given battle, each player would be entitled to reroll the battlefield once, but not the armies, if they felt the terrain was too unforgiving for their army. If both players agreed, you could reroll one additional time for a max of 3 rerolls.

I'd be willing to keep the records for the event, unless someone else has a yearning for such tasks.

In other matters, we would follow the current DL rules.

So... who's up for some chaos?

I'll be up for that - maybe you will get a bad all infantry army with no skirmishers - lol, and I'll beat you, also - lol

Well, so far, we've only got three people express interest in this thread. I was hoping for at least six, but I guess even four would be OK. I'm thinking we'd play each opponent twice if we had a small number of participants.

Ok that makes four; I'm hoping we can get at least 6, so you'd play each person twice for a total of 10 matches.

If this gets going, I suggest we get a tally on which dlc’s players have. That way, in any given matchup the player with more dlc’s should issue the challenges ( to broaden the range of potluck armies). I have all.

Good point; I just assumed folks this involved online would have all the DLC.

I have all of them myself.

Can everyone else post their DLCs please?

OK, we have our six man minimum, so I think we should go ahead and kick this season off.

The members are....

Challenge1 (all)
General Shapur (all)
Karvon (all)
Schweetness101 (all)
SnuggleBunnies (all)
TheGrayMouser (all)

Please indicated which DLCs you have, if you haven't got all of them. I rather suspect we all have all of them, but just in case.

A recap of the suggested rules:

1. Each member will play each other member twice. For a total of 10 games each.

2. All games are to be generated with potluck for both armies and terrain. The filters are by default on, you need to click on army b so the filters show so you then can turn off. All filters should be off to maximize the random range of armies. If one player doesn't have all the DLCs, the player having the most DLCs in the pairing must generate the challenge.

3. Each player may request one reroll of battlefield. If both agree an additional reroll can be done. A rerolled battle is to be set to the same armies as originally generated; only the field can be rerolled.

4. I suggest we open challenges from Aug 24 (Sat) and set a deadline of 10 weeks so Nov. 2 would be the closing date.

5. In regards to other details, we will follow the rules and guidelines posted for Digital League play.

If you have any questions or comments on this, please post in this thread.

I will send this via PM to each member to hopefully insure everyone is up-to-date with what's going on.

Thanks all for diving in and hope you all have fun!

Regards,

Karvon the Chaotic

Are we playing with date and geographic filters on or off?

Challenges up for all, password: chaos ( make sure you pick the one with your name)

FYI: the filters are by default on, you need to click on army b so the filters show so you then can turn off...

This is just commentary, but I never realized the games generates and displays the armies before you issue the challenge... code of honor here...

Remember to PM your opponents when you issue challenges, to increase the chances they'll take note and accept challenges promptly.
