The Ming and their enemies - Round Two
The Ming and their enemies - Round Two
The games are nearly finished in Round 1 and hopefully the remaining two games will soon be over. Well done to everyone.
During the round, we decided that for Round 2, the teams would remain with their Ming or Anti-Ming bias, as follows:
Pro-Ming - 1600 onwards
Kiwiwarlord (captain)
LFDLM
ahuyton
Eobrian2
Anti-Ming - 1600 onwards
Snugglebunnies (captain)
Pixel
GentlemanRanker
Fikabo
As before, please send me a pm or post here, with your choice of armies. I ask Brian and SB to coordinate their teams please. Try to get some variety in the choices...
Let's try to get games going by the second week of September.

SnuggleBunnies (Tibetan) defeats LFDLM (Zheng Dynasty) 71-28
A closer game than the score suggests. The Zheng took cover behind a deep stream with large numbers of cannons. Many Tibetan Warriors, on foot and ahorse, were sent fleeing by cannon fire, showers of arrows and hails of crossbow bolts and bullets before they were able to cross the river at multiple points, engage in hand to hand combat, and win the day.

Re: The Ming and their enemies - Round Two
SnuggleBunnies (Tibetan) defeats eobrian2 (Western Mongols) 60-6. The Mongol cavalry ran into Tibetan infantry ensconced in difficult terrain and suffered accordingly. Oddly enough, the greatest threat was from the Mongol infantry, veteran archers and swordsmen, shredding the levied Tibetan foot in melee. Luckily, the heavy horse punched through the center and crashed into their flank for game over.

Re: The Ming and their enemies - Round Two
KiwiWarlord ( Ming Southern Army 1683 ) beat Gentleman Ranker ( Qing 1700 ) 41-12
Steppe terrain with some patches of rough which I set up around. The Qing deployed their Infantry deep and spread their Cavalry wide so I advanced quickly in the centre and managed to defeat the Qing Infantry whilst holding off the Qing Calvary on the flanks with artillery and shooters.
As usual Nick & I exchanged much banter during the game, he is a welcome addition to the Sengoku Jidai community.

Re: The Ming and their enemies - Round Two
ahuyton (Tibetan Lords) won against Gentleman Ranker 58-32
This was actually a very close game for most turns. At one stage I counted three fragmented units on my side. I managed to pull ahead as the game broke up and pieces scattered. A draw would have been a fairer result I think.
I concur with Brian, Nick is a very pleasant opponent (and not just because he lets me win...)

Re: The Ming and their enemies - Round Two
Hello everybody
Thanks to Fikabo and Pixel for picking up their games. Hopefully we can get these finished by early November.
How are the games with Eobrian2 going? I have received no word on this.

Thanks SB.
How about Pixel, GR and Fikabo?
Re: The Ming and their enemies - Round Two
fikabo (Southern Rebels) defeat LFDLM (Zheng dynasty) 59:29.
In centre was big hill which my units was lucky to be first.
This hill help me win game by shouting on both side but was very bloody to keep.
My right wing (where was most units) win with help of artillery and hill.
My left wing also has wining until wonderful attack of Zheng which destroy half of my wing but it was to late change result.

SnuggleBunnies (Tibetan) defeats KiwiWarlord (Ming) 50-25
Ferocious fighting in forests and scattered villages surrounded by rice paddies; terrible cavalry country, but the Tibetan's matchlockmen and slingers caused enough damage that the heavy cavalrymen could, struggling in the muck, slog their way to victory.

Re: The Ming and their enemies - Round Two
fikabo (Southern Rebels) defeats Ahuyton (Tibetan Lords) 62:49
Very hard battle for me. Most time I have feeling that I lost it. I have more mens (14k to 10k) but with cost of small number of horses and many raw units. So at beginning I winning with more my units engage in shooting and mele but when enemy horses come I have big trouble to stop them. I have luck that they were mostly on my right wing so I lost it but rest army win battle.
PS: I think that Tibetan Lords routed more my mens than I his but I have 40% more mens so at percent is my minimal win.
