Division A
Geffalrus (Antigonid) defeated Cunningcairn (Ptolemies with Roman allies) 53-26
A very formal affair where everyone partnered up in an organized fashion. The lights fought lights, cavalry chased each other on one flank far from the main line, and the heavy infantry stared at each other until it was time to make the flank attacks happen. Lady luck was all over the place as we each dealt with good and bad double drops, sticky light cavalry charges, and clutch rallies. In the end, my combination of positioning and luck came out on top.
Very good game to my opponent.

Re: Tournament diary and news . . .
Okie has withdrawn from Biblical because he is unable to load the TT Mod and I have approached Breogan to replace him in Division B. I am expecting that Okie will be withdrawing from Classical Antiquity, Late Antiquity and Early Middle Ages as well because he is unable to update his game to include allies. I will post again once I know more.

probably a silly question, but have you definitely got 1.5.18 installed not 1.5.3?

Division D
MikeMarchant (Ghaznavid 962-1187 CE - Allies: Turkish) defeated Doyley50 (Anglo-Danish 1017-1041 AD): 71/40
This was a really tough scrap and for several turns I thought I had it, only for one of my units to break or for one of Alan's to rally. I should have been more patient and allowed my cavarly to work its way further round the flanks before charging in, but... I just can't resist charging in.
Alan suffered from having a very heavy slow moving army strung out in a long line, while my highly mobile army was able to choose where and when to attack. Hitting both flanks at once and leaving his centre alone, I was able to encircle enough Anglo Danes to cause serious problems, while most of his infantry struggled to turn and march to the sound of the buns (my elephants eating the buns, of course). My elephants wreaked havoc and won the game for me, really, and those Anglo Danish heavies who did manage to stand their ground were repeatedly hit in the rear and flanks by cavalry and light horse, until they decided to give up and go home for a bacon sandwich and an eponymous pastry.
Back luck, Alan, an epic battle, and a lot of fun to play. Thanks for the game.
Best Wishes
Mike
