Re: Calling grumpydaddy845 and Breogan . . .
I have not heard anything from grumpydaddy845 and Breogan about these two vacancies even though they put their names down on the reserve list recently. I will approach other players today - SLancaster and Garokan for starters - and then I will advertise the vacancies on the forums. If there is anyone interested in taking up these places, either a new player, or a player with a current FOG2DL rating below 3.50, please put your name in this thread.

Re: Biblical: winners post your results here . . .
Division A
sunnyboy (Lydian) beat Cunningcairn (Hebrew) 41-12
The game took a little bit of time to develop, the Lydians feeling their initial deployment was dangerously outflanked spent the first half of the match deploying to more favourable positions with the Hebrew host in hot pursuit. As the battle unfolded the Lydian lancers on the right flank although slightly outnumbered by the Hebrew chariots were able to hold the flank, a fortunate (for the Lydian) push-back prevented a potentially devastating flank charge that proved crucial to the outcome. With Phrygian foot holding the high ground to secure the other flank. The clash in the centre determined the result with the Lydian hoplites getting the better of their opponents.
Thanks for an enjoyable game!

Division A
youngr (Dacians) defeated harveylh (Romans) 62-38
Much to my amazement the Dacians proved very lucky and resilient in this game whereas the Romans failed to make the major breakthough they deserved. I doubt my poor army choice will achieve much else in this tournament!
Cheers

Div C
fikabo (Polish 966 with Viking ally) beat Oscarius - (Rus with Viking ally) 45:5
Despite result it was very hard battle. I have strong skirmishes and mass archers which win very effective on my left.
In centre I have smaller number of heavy infantry so I delay mele and at end get help of left wing.
On my right I have smaller number of cavalry but with help of some arches and mass archers I balance it.
PS: This was finished 10 October. I put next day info on forum but diseapear: Either I send it to other forum or not press submit, sorry.

Division C
fikabo (Jewish+Romans) defeated edb1815 (Thracian Hellenistic with Antigonid ally) 49:12
Strange mountain map.
Battle could be only in two narrow gorges.
I have better position because those gorges were wider on my side and I have shorter distance beetwen them so could move units from one side to other.
I have many skirimishes which were quite effective in this map but frequently get trapped trying to evade to not available areas.
