Division D
vakarr with Classical Thracian 680-461 BC plus Classical Greek Allies beat SawyerK with Roman 199-106 BC army and Spanish allies 49-21.
The Thracians are celebrating another unlikely victory over the Romans, who fought hard and had started to crush the Thracian left flank when the game ended. The Thracians put their best infantry on the left, in open terrain (including all the heavy infantry). In the centre there was a patch of rough terrain. On the Thracian right was some open terrain backed by woods - here a massive force of Thracian cavalry was able to force its way through, while the Thracians won the battle in the centre. The Spanish foot failed to disrupt their Thracian opponents on any of their charges, perhaps showing how unwilling they were to fight for their imperialistic masters. This battle was weirdly like the battle fought simultaneously against the Carthginians with Syracusan allies, with a very similar terrain layout, except that in the latter battle everything that could go wrong for the Thracian cavalry did and everything that could go right for the Carthaginians (who also moved their troops well) also happened.

Division B
rbodleyscott (Arab Conquest) defeated devoncop (Byzantines + Georgians) 8-4 (devoncop conceded)
This concession was entirely reasonable as the massed Arab veteran spearmen were rapidly chewing up the Skutatoi/Archer line with no real hope of a significantly counterbalancing Byzantine breakthrough anywhere else on the field.

melm (Andalusian) beat devoncop (Byzantines + Georgians) 12-8 (devoncop conceded)
Possibly devoncop morale was broken by rbodleyscott's Muslim conquerors nightmare that he had no willingness to combat with my veteran muslim spearmen as well.

harveylh – Syracusan 280-211 BC with Carthaginian 235-146 BC ally defeats Cunningcairn - Ptolemaic 55-30 BC with Roman 105-25 BC ally, 60-58
Hard to get any closer. Very good game with multiple comebacks by both sides.
