Heres the verbiage, 2 different popups;

1st
failed to fetch data from battle state: sizes do not match:state128!=call:4(0)

game 'closes'

2nd

I am simply trying to play a campaign as Stilicho.

I was in choosing my army phase, I had to stop and save .

Came back, started the game, tried to load the save, and I get those errors.

The error file you need to include is error.log found in Documents/My Games/FieldOfGlory2 - the info you included is just a UI definition file for the error popup box :)

I forgot which campaign module( game version add on) Stlicho is in, maybe I can delete and re-download/install?

Have you tried going back to the campaign save prior to the one that isn't working correctly? (It sounds like it is corrupted).

There isn't one, as I noted, I was in ; ' choosing my army phase'.

I have an 'archive' gaming computer( I keep in anticipation of Win 10 not running all of my game) and it ran the Stilicho camp. fine, I saved at the same place, it restarted etc...so your probably right, this one is corrupted.

How can I delete that module, Legions Triumphant so I can reinstall? Or is there a way to reinstall right over it?

Oooooorrrrr, do I have to uninstall the entire game and reinstall all of my add ons as in, RoP, WatG etc..?

I guess it depends wherein lies the corruption. It might just be the campaign Save file.

Firstly, is your game updated to the current version (v1.5.21)?

Secondly, have you tried doing the same thing again on the same computer and check that it wasn't a one-off occurrence?

Well I cannot reproduce this problem, but in case it is an arcane bug rather than a corrupted build, before reinstalling the whole game, have you tried simply not saving the game until the next turn, and see if that and subsequent saves work OK?

If that also causes the same crash, your build probably is corrupted and you will need to uninstall the whole game and reinstall it. There is no way to only uninstall and install one DLC. You would need to uninstall the game, then run the full (v1.5.12) installer, then the v1.5.21 updater. You will have to re-enter your serial keys for the game and any DLCs you own.

Although the updater link is the same URL as the one in the first link in the v1.5.21 update post. This works fine normally, so I don't know why you have been having problems with it. What country are you in? However, you may have better luck with the mirrors.

ok...

so I have the file, the update,the US mirror ( I am in California) page DLed the file in 20 minutes.... but I need the Installer?

this one-

?

If so, back to square one- I went to my page FOG2 and clicked to DL the installer......for this 1.4GB file I am looking at an hour and half to DL it....

so I dled the installer, unloaded it, dled the patch unloaded it, basically 2 hours altogether.......I played Dara and tn 5, I saved..came back and loaded it and got exactly the same error messages above I originally posted....this is infuriating...

In which case, something appears to be preventing the game saves from getting saved correctly, and the corrupted save crashes the game when you try to reload it.

Have you previously been able to play the game without this issue?

Possibilities:

1) Automated backup software such as Google Drive or similar may be interrupting the game save process. We thought we had fixed that issue, but maybe not for all backup programs/systems.

The solution would be to exclude /Documents/My Games/FieldOfGlory2 and its sub-folders from the automated backup.

Do you have any such software running, and did you install it recently?

2) Another possibility that your firewall or antivirus software is preventing the game save from being saved correctly, thus preventing the saves from being reloaded correctly.

You need to explicitly give Field of Glory 2 permission to write to your /Documents folder. In particular the /Documents/My Games/FieldOfGlory2 folder.

If these suggestions do not succeed, please contact support on support@slitherine.co.uk.

If they do succeed please let us know.

turned off goggle dling,so it wont touch the my doc folder.

I have .12 loaded tried playing error below when I tried ot reload.

I am going to uninstall the game via the .12 uninstaller. can I just then load the .21 update to lad the game again? Or do I need to load another version first?

Ive decided to tackle this from scratch. I am dling the original game from the disk. Please tell whats best form there- what update should I apply in what order etc etc ...thx.

the uninstall did not uninstall the mydocuments/ my game/s fog folders files....?????

It isn't supposed to.

You can however safely delete them if you wish and they will be created anew when you start the game. You will need to re-enter your preferred Settings.

1) Run the v1.5.12 Installer.
2) Run the v1.5.21 Updater.

Nothing else.
