Division A
harveylh – Syracusan 280-211 BC with Carthaginian 235-146 BC ally defeats XLegione - Samnite 355-272 BC with Gallic 300-101 BC ally, 58-20
On a battlefield with rough terrain, woods, and a large steep hill, nearly all the terrain was on the Greek side forcing most of the Samnites to fight in the open where the hoplites and Carthaginian cavalry had the advantage.

devoncop (Moors 350AD) beat IMC (Roman 24AD with Sarmatian Allies) ...63% to 37%
A Little Big Horn precursor as the open terrain favoured the Moorish swarms.
Thanks to my opponent for a hard fought contest.

Division C
edb1815 (Thracian w Antigonid ally) defeated Bluefin (Kappadokian) 43% -13%
Bluefin was unlucky on this one. The Kappadokian right flank of mainly Irregular infantry was routed by a mixed force of massed peltasts, cavalry and hoplites supported by skirmishers coming down off a hill. A number of chain routs and breakthrough charges made it a quick affair. The Kappadokian infantry wing was in disarray before his superior Iranian cavalry could get into action. A final bit of bad luck was the fragmented Thracian Elephant holding! Thanks for the game.

Shouldn't Sitting Bull be the player who drives MikeC crazy by - sitting - in forest in a corner?

Schweetness101 (Carthage, Hannibal in Africa 202 BC) beat cromlechi (Egyptian 405-343 BC): 53-27
Knowing that the Egyptians would vastly outnumber me with defensive spearmen, and have superior ranged capability with the massed archers, I determined to rush forward with my best infantry (veteran Italians, African spears, and heavy warband) behind a light infantry screen in order to engage as quickly as possible. I had a few cavalry for flanks, but no elephants because they would simply be too vulnerable, and not a good matchup against the Egyptian forces.
I formed up the infantry into a column all on my right flank, where the hill that dominated the map was closer to me, best troops in front, with LF screening from MA fire, with the hopes of routing the Egyptian left and center before their long right wing, and reserve of hoplites, could wheel around. I nearly succeeded in that, getting up to almost 30-0 percent rout wise at first. But, when the Egyptian right finally came around, they rapidly routed, through massed archer fire followed with charges and chain routing, my pinning force on the left consisting of scutarii and a veteran African spear unit. This almost closed the gap in a single turn, leaving us at ~39-29.
The battle then became a bit of a slog fest, but a few more flanks on isolated remnants of the Egyptian left, routs of Egyptian early cavalry surrounded by my light foot, rallies of a few scutarrii of mine, and the sheer tenacity of veteran African spears, even when surrounded, finally got me to that >25% gap.
In the picture below:

the top right was the Egyptian starting position, and the bottom left the Carthaginian starting position. The Egyptian left is gone, and their center is engaged all along the ridgeline, both armies having pivoted 90 degrees. The Egyptian right is still intact, has wheeled around, and begun to seize the territory the Carthaginian left and center started on, but too late.
gg to cromlechi
and that's all for me this tournament, good luck everyone!

Division C
fikabo (Polish 966 with Viking ally) beat Herm - (French) 49:8.
The French had better troops, Poles had more of them.
The Poles decided to encircle the opponent and try to fight with more units per one opponent's unit.
The French attack, the forest and a large number of skirmish made this task easier but it was very hard task.
Most of the time I had a slight advantage, only the last two turns French troops fighting with several of mine began dying.

Karvon (Germanic Horse Tribes with Dacian ally) drew vs Najanaja (Roman 24 BC–196 AD with German Foot Tribes ally) 36-9 for a 2-0 score.
The Romans retreated into a heavily forested corner on their right flank. We managed to kill off a few skirmishers and eventually broke thru in a couple of points, but night fell before w could further exploit the situation.

Division C
Karvon (Germanic Horse Tribes with Dacian ally) drew vs GDod (Jewish Revolt) 57-37 for a 2-2 draw.
A long swirling battle in which our lancers started out threatening the enemy right, then redeploying and punching thru the enemy center supported by some initially hidden warbands. As the sun was setting we finally broke the Jews only to see them rally enough units to pull out the draw as the last light left the field.
