I'd just like to make people aware that a very decent strategy game has been released covering the Sengoku Period in Japan. It's by an indie dev. called Magitech. It's fairly similar to the early games by Slitherine but has a strong focus on individuals (generals, governors). I thougth you might be interested.

I've had a lot of fun (still do) with Takeda 2 and have just started playing Takeda 3 (just released). It's a good game with a good AI. If you prefer Chinese history check Sango 2 which has been released last year with the same engine:

By the way...it may be interesting for Slitherine to seek a collaboration with Magitech! Wink

Cheers

You might want to contact Ming-Sheng Lee, the company director. (magitech@ezgame.com) Very Happy

I've played Takeda 2 a lot and think it's a very solid game (also played Strengh and Honor which is a bit dated now). I am currently playing Takeda 3 and have also bought Sango 2 (same engine but published last year).

Magitech seems to have a hard time publishing in english speaking countries and Europe.

I am sure that with the help of Slitherine (maybe also on the graphics side?) they could reach a larger audience.

I think the world mode engine by Magitech with a battle engine by Slitherine/the Lordz could make a HUGE game (it's not that their engine is bad...just not so uptodate graphicwise)

Cheers

I ordered their game directly from Magitech (postage is included in the price so it's fairly cheap). 3 games bought so far and all arrived in good condition and fairly quickly.

I think they have discussions with Paradox and Matrix going on...don't know about Slitherine.

I keep getting defeated as soon as I battle. Can someone please tell me how I'm suppised to command my troops in battle and how to move them from town when not in battle? not at all a fan of real time and this is why. Game seems really awesome but real time sucks for me. Sad

Hi,

Not sure what your problem is but i'll try my best:

1. To command troops in battle, left click on them, to move/attack right-click on the location/Division you want your unit to go.
2. To move your army from town, you have to create an army. In the World mode, select a city, then choose creating an army at the bottom. You can either let it auto-create an army or you may pick the generals yourself and give them the type of units you want.
3. Under options, you can slow down battles if you like.
4. Always keep one or two divisions by your flags.

I recommend you to read the manual (PDF)...

Cheers
