When you feel that the game looks blurry... nVidia (Radeon) 1080p settings
Hi,
at the first I´m non english speaker (my english is like "junglish" sry)
From my point of view this game graphic was designed for 4K and when I play it on my 15" fullHD laptop on default settings it looks like .... mmm ... "one BIG motion blur" I don´t know how to describe it. It is not that crispy feel like was in PC1. May be you also see the diference. Sometime it was hard to discern differences between units (tanks especialy)
So I go through nVidia (GTX 1050Ti) settings and set up:
(I hope AMD Radeons has similar setting somewhere)
nVidia system tray icon - nVidia control panel:
Sharpening - between 0,5 - 0,6 is OK and ignore film grain to 0
anisotropic filtering - 16x
Texture filtering anisotropic sample optimization - Enable
Texture Filtering – Negative LOD Bias - Enable
Multi-frame Sampled AA (MFAA) - Enable
and voila .... PC2 looks fantastic and crispy as hell
Hope It helps ... WulF
sry for Czech location of img but I hope you understand...
EDIT: For AMD Radeon please try this link https://www.amd.com/en/technologies/rad ... sharpening

Those are some nice settings you found there. Thank you. The blurry look was one thing that bothered me a little.

Thank you! Makes a great difference!
Re: When you feel that the game looks blurry... nVidia 1080p settings
I couldn't find any difference. Maybe it depends of the video card?. I have a GTX1070 8Gb RAM.
I will try again later.
Thanks a lot.

You're welcome folks I'm glad it helped you to improve your enjoyment with this great game
I think it doesn't depend of your graphics card. It is all about your drivers. May be you choose wrong path to your PC2 exe file in first column (look at my picture in first post)...
BTW: Does your game look like in my screenshot or like Kerensky´s one posted in this thread ?

I think devs should take this post for the next game updates, the blurry almost disappears and the units and terrain look more neat at all zoom levels.
This thread should be in Stickies, srsly.
Thanks a lot.
Best regards,
Akkula.

Re: When you feel that the game looks blurry... nVidia (Radeon) 1080p settings
Thats great, Akkula.
A thousand people a thousand tastes...
Graphic designers certainly well know about these settings and my taste of look is (maybe) a bit "oversharpened" for them. A lot of games use blur effects right now (I turn it off immediately if possible) - it's a fashion thing. But not for us
Enjoy.

Excellent tip, thanks!
Re: When you feel that the game looks blurry... nVidia 1080p settings
The upcoming patch should look less blurry than initial release. But there is always some space for improvement.

(Není zač a zdravím, Georgi )
Update ver. 1.00.06
Ground looks in new version much more shrapened so...
Decrease Sharpenning to 0,25, ignore fim grain 0 or 0,10
I´ve stopped using MFAA completely now Just set up FXAA 4x for better performance.
Unfortunately we lost a bit of unit details when you are zoomed out but overall game looks much more better than before.

Re: When you feel that the game looks blurry... nVidia (Radeon) 1080p settings
Thanks, WulFgaR77. I followed your last settings (in the post above this) and they are a very nice balance of sharpness and performance. I followed the settings in your first post and stuff was sharp, but I felt scrolling across the map was a struggle - it felt like wading through water or being a bit drunk. I guess my Graphics card is not good enough (GTX 750ti). With your last settings, it was still pretty sharp (esp. the map - the units themselves were a little blurred) but my scrolling problem was almost gone and the game felt much more playable, rather than a struggle. Thanks again.
