Geffalrus (Macedonian) has successfully defended his Division A title after Nosy_Rat (Roman) defeated harveylh (Roman) in a crucial match this week. Nosy_Rat will finish second with harveylh third. Stirrings in the deepest depths of Division B saw Trogilus (Pergamene) rise from the dead with 2 wins while 2 defeats for lydianed (Roman) means that he will be relegated if batesmotel (Gallic) secures just 1 point from the last 4 matches. A very exciting finish to the relegation battle in Division C saw Garokan (Indian) and rs2excelsior (Pontic) haul themselves up on to 11 points leaving Bluefin (Italian Hill Tribes) stranded in the automatic relegation place despite having won 3 matches this season. Division D was completed over a week ago now.

Weekly round-up
nyczar (Scots-Irish) continued his winning ways in Division A this week to finally finish in fifth place after being in the relegation battle for much of the season. That relegation struggle will now be decided in the match between Schweetness101 (Kushan) and NikiforosFokas (Palmyran). In Division B Questar17 (Gepd) narrowly won the top of the table clash against desertedfox (Roman) to take the top spot. He needs just 1 point in his last match against Nijis (Hepthalite) to win automatic promotion while Nijis needs a 4 pointer to finish on top of what has been a really exciting division. In Division C MikeMarchant (Arab Bedouin) seems to have perfected the art of coming with a late run from mid-table to secure third place. He also managed to do this in Classical Antiquity. Macedonczyk (Jewish) completed an excellent season with his eighth win leaving baldrick52 (Pictish) in the wooden spoon position.

Nosy_Rat (Byzantine) emerged victorious from the championship decider against harveylh (Andalusian) in Division A completing both a clean sweep of 9 victories and a successful defence of the title he first won in Season 7. The relegation battle is still continuing where NikiforosFokas (Abbasid) lost another match so now needs 2 points from his last 2 games to relegate Geffalrus (Indian Rajput). In Division B paulmcneil (Viking) moved into third place with a win over markwatson360 (Rus)but both nyczar (Dailami) and GDod (Polish) can still overtake him if they win their last match. In Division C guess who is making a late run to secure third place? Yes, it is MikeMarchant again, this time dressed in his Andalusian outfit, who won a close match against bottom-placed remf220 (Norman). In Division D Macedonczyk (Jewish) completed a superb clean sweep by defeating bomber23 (Polish).

Weekly round-up
A very quiet week all round in Biblical. The top of Division A has come to a halt as dkalenda (Assyrian) is stranded in South Africa because of the coronavirus situation there and in Italy. In Division B another defeat for MikeMarchant (Assyrian) means that he is relegated, while lunecastle (Babylonian) has moved into a clear lead at the top of Division C after registering his seventh staright win. At the bottom kerrak (Assyrian) will not be able to complete his matches due to the coronavirus situation in Spain.

As you know, there are three adjudicators who make decisions about unfinished matches and any other matters not covered clearly by the rules. They are myself, Anders (hidde) and Ian (ianiow). With regards to matches unfinished this season (and it may also be relevant to Season 8 as well), we have decided to recognise a distinct category of "coronavirus affected matches" that will be scored as 2-2 (2 points each). This is when we are satisfied that the match would normally have been completed but for the situation with the coronavirus.

Our first 3 adjudications involve kerrak, who was playing in Biblical Division C. kerrak lives in Spain where the coronavirus is currently very bad and he has maintained contact with me throughout March to let me know of his situation. He has now told me that he will not be able to play his final 3 matches. So the matches in question are . . .

Hyde77 v kerrak - coronavirus, match adjudicated as a draw, 2 points each (voting 3-0)

It is very likely that dkalenda's remaining matches in Classical Division A and Biblical Division A will be treated in the same way, although we will be waiting until the end of the tournament to adjudicate those four matches.
