Onslaught - feels short?
Onslaught - feels short?
The expansion feels kindda short to me compared to the base game.
Haven´t counted missions, but really hope the next will have same lenght as the base game.

Well for Onslaught the idea was to give you a lot of variety and replayability with a different set-up and procedural maps as well as branching paths. So it has less story but is highly replayable.
The next one will have another more "epic" campaign with a similar number of maps but the added bonus of more variety in how you play the campaign.

The 'Onslaught' dlc, actually, added to & increased the lifespan/replayability.
For me, much better then just another campaign...though there is nothing wrong with that.

I know you can go different paths, but all in all there´s only 12 missions from start to finish, and the last mission is always the same, plus quite a few missions are rather short (which I definitely don´t mind if there´s enough).
Also if the missions are few the RNG gets more profound, especially on legendary Iron Maiden where some finds literally can make or break your shot at a complete playthrough, with the mercenary hero especially.
On another note I would love to try the big campaign with the mercenary hero. It´s challenging and fun IMO to actually have to use the volunteers you find.

Yes, the Onslaught campaign has about the same number of maps than the Invasion one, but as you have branching paths, the average playthrough is shorter. It is geared more towards challenging your skills with different set-ups. The next DLC will feature another long campaign while also offering branching paths, so that will be more what you may prefer.

It will be from an unknown source, of course.
