Division F
Blagrot - Andalusian 756-1049 AD beat Nikobeg - Viking, Ireland 900-1049 AD 65%-31%
I sort of feel I should apologise for this game's start, I marched into range of the viking shieldwall and then realised pretty much none of my troops could actually attack it safely. After I shot them a bit the Vikings made the charges instead (or possibly they just got bored) but opened themselves to several flank charges in the process. Once the lancers had gaps to charge through the Viking's fell apart in a seccussion of flank and rear charges, thanks for the game and sorry for the rather passive play.

Division B
Swuul (Spartan 550-461 BC with Corinthian 550-461 BC allies) beat IMC (Lydian 550-546BC with Greek Asiatic 550-461 BC allies) 48-12
An otherwise flat map except a very rough hill on the Spartan right flank. A shallow stream ran across the map to a large lake right of the rough hill. A large rough patch of land on the left. The spartans had their javelinmen rush forwards on the hill so that they would be guaranteed to hold the hill-crest before the lydians arrived, and then the few spartan irregular foot would follow to fortify the hold on the hill. Next to the hill the spartans had their weaker hoplites, because it was assumed the main fighting would happen on spartan left, where the lydian medium infantry surely would be heading. The spartan slightly more mobile spartan hoplites thus were placed on left in a column, their goal to try to get on the other side of the rough patch before the lydian medium foot would arrive in full strength. The lydian cavalry was expected to go around the rough on the left, and thus the few spartan cavalry were deployed to delaying positions. Well, those were the spartan plans, but only the cavalry part did happen. Instead the lydians used most of their quality medium foot to charge up the rough hill on the spartan right, and did the let the spartan hoplites rather freely get past the rough patch on the left. After some intense fighting on the hill the lydians were thrown off, while the spartans hoplites had started to roll up the lines from left. The spartan cavalry was able to delay the lydian cavalry long enough before they crumbled that the lydians were not able to attack the spartans in the rear.
Thank you for the game IMC. The charge up the hill sure surprised me, and for a while I thought I might have placed too little troops to its defence, but in the end it proved to be just as tough nut to crack as I had expected it to be.

Its too bad Gefferalus wasn't here to defend his crown with his pikes. That would have been a good show.

Division C
sunnyboy - Scots 851-1051 AD with Viking 790-899 AD allies beat ulysisgrunt - Viking, Ireland 900-1049 AD with Scots 851-1051 AD allies 44-18
The mirror image armies naturally lined up on opposite sides of the field. The Scots made a dash for the unguarded high ground on their left, securing it with minor losses as the Vikings host approached. The height advantage proved the difference as they withstood the furious Viking assault and ground out a hard fought win.
Thanks for the game!

Tough game for the Thracians as a couple of double drops and a chain reaction unhinged their line early. Thanks for the game.
