The 2003 Iraq war

The assault on Baghdad, which, in the opinion of the Anglo-American command, was supposed to be the most difficult part of the operation, as such, was not. The result of the "strange defense of Baghdad", inglorious for Iraq, was the result of an operation to bribe senior Iraqi military leaders, including the commander of the Republican Guard in the capital, General Al-Tikriti. Later, the American side, represented by the commander of the UCC, General T. Frank, generally admitted that it resorted to widespread bribery of the Iraqi commanders, forcing them to lay down their arms in some cities without a fight.

It's time to make a uint with a diplomat full of money for bribes )))

With kind Akkula's permission I'd like to offer two extensions to this excellent mod:

1. MdC 1.4 Naming Convention - this one exploits capabilities of equipment localization file which actually works on original English version too. Thus allows to use both short and long names for units (only in English language):

Image

2. MdC RU 1.4A - simply put, that is complete Russian localization for current mod version. Naming Convention embedded for Russian language.

Both are JSGME-compatible: unpack into MODS folder and install on top of Modern Conflicts 1.4 (can be used simultaneously aswell since they affect different files).

Thanks a lot Estherr.
Indeed, this add-on is a fantastic addition to the mod.
I was never a fan of the NATO classification for the Soviet/Russian equipment, I always prefered the orginal names. But this add-on allows to fulfill both sides for those who prefer NATO or Russian names. :D
Not to mention we can have the full name of EVERY unit: manufacturer, model, even caliber!.
For next releases we will try to already have it included in the mod.
Massive thanks again friend.

Akkula.

Hola Akkula!

Really glad you like it - it was a bit of surprise development (unlike localization you were well aware =))

Honestly, I only used NATO codenames for planes. Since unlike Soviet Russian ground units which feature wide range of names, sometimes crazy, sometimes amuzing (TOS-1 "Buratino" for example, which is Russian version of Pinocchio), SU/RU military planes often do not have official name. Here NATO codenames fits in perfectly. And caliber is just handy imo =)

Yes Yes Russian names are more severe ) Mortar cornflower good flower :D

Mortars. 2B9M "cornflower". A flower with its own history

Continuing the theme of modern mortars, we continue to dig in the flower bed. Nothing to say, the subtle humor of our gunsmiths. All these "Carnations", "Acacias", "Peonies", "Hyacinths", "lilies of the valley", "Cornflowers", "Tulips"... To list everything that grows and has grown on our "flower bed" is not so much a difficult task as it requires specific knowledge not only in the field of botany.

To be honest, the authors had the opinion that most of the designers in the institutes played KVN. At least they have a sense of humor. T-72B2 tank — "Slingshot". In memory of a hooligan childhood? As a hint of broken Windows in the neighbors? Or a Metis anti-tank missile. With a sight "Mulatto". Perhaps an echo of the festival of youth and students in Moscow.

Marine F\A -18 hornet if you change back to the land version, you have to give back the full amount for the F-16 D and F-15 C eagle )
Image
Image

On the black sea, you have to buy marine aviation because it has few flight moves on land, so it is very expensive to replace it with a "land" one ! How about something in between that would not remain without aviation ?

Image
Also, there is no winter camouflage for NATO and Ukrainian equipment in the scenario about Donbass !

It is suggested (even in the Library) to have reserves in the player core to support the naval warfare. So, it is recommended to have some some F-18s, Seahawks and heavy bombers available for deployment in these sort of scenarios. Prestige shouldn't be a problem, during my tests I had not issues at all and I was able to buy some "naval" reserves, and I consider myself as a mediocre player. Maybe you are playing at maximum difficulty?.

Mhh, not for a long while. The mod has, literally, over a thousand units... it would be a massive task (and huge time consuming) to make the snow camos for most of them.

Hi Akkula!

I always play on a harsh level of difficulty so on the easy one everything is easy and not fun to play at all ) You can keep a whole harem of different Nations and units on the light ) Because there is prestige just like a billionaire )

So you don't have to wait for winter missions at all ?

Well, the Iraqis will have something new only pleases ) Sorry there are no missions about the Afghan war or Vietnam )))

P.s.
Image

Company for NATO :) Saratov is very easy to Capture ( although there is no team for this, but there are only minefields and two detachments ) add an army )
Add Russian forces at Saratov that would not tempt the player with an easy capture )

Image
In the next Saratov I do not have time to save the encircled as I do not try I should work with the balance ) Here on the turnover to be less aggressive
And the company on the 3rd move ends in defeat (

Image
Image
In Norway, NATO's camouflage is summer ( and how to get out on this damn island, the Russians are blocking all approaches (

Image
When will MANPADS and ATGMs be added ? And rapier-type anti-tank guns ?

On the shore crawled out the mission just ended with a victory ) Then we have Murmansk )

The Iraqis had quite a large number of inflatable models of armored vehicles and air defense systems purchased from France ( up to 5 sets for each real unit!), which allowed them to organize a huge number of false positions! This led to the fact that the first phase of the "desert Storm", which consisted of massive air and missile strikes on identified targets, took NATO 2 times longer than planned!
http://historykpvo.narod2.ru/
http://gunmagazine.com.ua/index.php?id=178

Will there be layouts and inflatable equipment that would deceive the enemy ?

During the five years of the Vietnam war, the USAF lost 64 OV-10 aircraft, the USMC 10 aircraft, and the US Navy 7 aircraft.[8]

the second time American OV-10s were used in combat, during operation desert Storm in 1991. The Marines used them to guide allied aircraft. In the first flights, the inadequacy of the aircraft to the conditions of modern war was revealed. Two OV-10As were shot down by Iraqi anti-aircraft gunners, after which the targeting tasks were assigned to another aircraft, and the OV-10s continued to be used for aircraft guidance until the end of the war.
Image
As part of the air forces of other States, OV-10 took part in various anti-partisan wars and military coups.

He started for Russia ) In the mission Fraternal aid, poles and Ukrainians are directly hunting for the 11th brigade of the Belarusian army and at difficult levels they do it (the Mission failed on 3-4 moves as they destroy the air defense system )

Now this victory screen looks weird. I _never_ used "NATO surrendered" for campaign scenario debriefings localization. It's either DV or V depending on outcome. By the background it's DV, so must be "Решающая победа" and campaign proceed onto next mission in both original 1.4 and 1.4A localization on top (double-checked right now).
