You can't unless you know how to mess with the game to change it. Otherwise legitimately the only way is by playing the SCW DLC and importing your core.

Yup, one of the biggest benefits from carrying over is access to the unique rewards.

1939 is fully playable without Galland or the Verjeda 2 tank, as will future DLC be. But it wouldn't be a properly linking Grand Campaign if it wasn't carrying over all your goodies from one part to the next.

The 1939 preset and future presets should be able to maintain parity by injecting heroes and special equipment at the start. All of those tools exist, so I don't foresee this ever being a problem as it was in the original GC.

Look into the SCW folder, find the Ebro lua (script file).

You'll need to copy the Galland-related stuff over to a 1939 scenario of your choice.

It's pretty easy if you know a little about scripting and take the time to analyze the lua files' structure.

I suppose I could make something, but I'm super busy for the next 2 weeks, so it would have to wait.

thanks but that's way beyond my tech level. i'm playing SCW now just to get him. i was a WW2 history buff in my youth. read everything from Shirer's Third Reich to books by Galland and Guderian so i've got to see his hero's abilities. he did start out in the SCW but as a low altitude strafing not a fighter pilot. i think the planes were open air and he used to wear shorts and smoke cigars during missions. before the ME 109 which was just the opposite, much better at high altitude.
