FALLSCHIRJAGER PROBLEM..

When I play the Fallschirmjager practice scenario I only get 3 Fallschirmjagers to practice with even though I had at least 6 in the previous scenario ...I cant even buy any...what up here????

Check your core size. If I remember correctly you only have something like 21 core slots. If you are at that number already whether due to aircraft, overstrength, or whatever that's where I would check first. First you will have to move most of your units into reserve, or you won't even be able to begin deploying them on the map. Otherwise, they don't have to be FSJ units; some can be other types. But if you want the experience reward for your units, you need to get them to those target dummies. Beating up on the fortifications that abound that map only bring "normal" experience to your units.

In this campaign the Fornebu scenario which is the first one starts out with many Fallschirjagers.....I cant buy any extra ones....at the end of it I still have all my Fallschirmjagers I started it with...When I continue with the second scenario which is the Fallschirmjager practice I still only get 3 Fallschirmjagers and I cant buy any more. In the next scenario the 3rd one I also only have 3 Fallschirmjagers to deploy....I need at least 5...but still cant buy any more...Hope that better explains the problem. As far as slots go I reduce my units down to the 21 slots available...still only 3 Fallschirjagers...

Move ALL your units to Reserve.
Now buy 5 new Fall units, 21 slots => 5 Fall + 2 Me109 [Garland w/ aiming assist] .
That is all you need.

Dalfrede...I cant purchase Falls at any time in the first three scenarios of this campaign...lots of points to spend but no listing of Falls in any Inf units..I do start out with many..and I end the scenario with many Falls....but only 3 carry over???

To clarify, it's the Retrograde General Trait that you choose at the beginning of the DLC that causes this. The service period for Fallschirmjager in the units file starts at the beginning of 1940, so Retrograde generals won't get access to them until, at the earliest, the Jersey Islands scenario after France has fallen.

For what it's worth, I was able to complete the Belgium branch of the Benelux segment of AO'40 with only three Fallschirmjager units. It was a slight stretch at Eben Emael, but I shifted a few heroes over to them and they held out just fine until my armored reinforcements arrived.

After importing my core from the last DLC, in Fornebu I upgraded two of my Wehr Inf to FSJ. Then I bought two new ones bringing the total to four. I kept those four for the first several maps. Then I returned the original two back to Wehr Inf and am left for the future with just the two FSJ that I purchased at the beginning of the DLC.

hello i have a problem with Fall units, when i deploy them, i can't swith them to ju52 planes . They just can only move on ground. How make them taking the plane?? the icon to mount on plane is not present.

Do you mean when deploying your forces for your first turn, or in general? Otherwise, they have to be on an airfield to 'take off' in a transport.

just in case , not all maps allow use of airbourne troops there will b slot count above map if it does allow them, if that is there they need to be deployed in plane to move by plane if not the need to move by land to an airport

For example, i have the problem for the Fort Eben-Emael mission ! i can't deploy falls and even on airport, they keep ground form, they can't mount on plane on next turn!

i got the same probleme on first mission too; but i succeed to make it by troops on boats and by support the oslo troops with bf110.

Maybe it is the bug with the " six month delay " in the commands points. The Falls are not available during 6 months ?

A lot of 'guides' offer the suggestion to auto pick the retrograde trait, because it's seen as 'free negative points' to enable more positive picks.

Not to be cruel, but I kind of feel this particular trait is working as intended as a NEGATIVE trait. 1940 is a super important year for German paratroopers in many operations, so of course they would be massively impacted by having a delayed availability date.

Really got to carefully consider your negative traits, they really can have huge impacts. I use to treat 'trench slog' as a 'free negative pick', but I realized I couldn't do things like use fighters to chip away at very high entrenchment ratings, and it was forcing me to rely way too much on pioniere type infantry. Even artillery wasn't doing what I needed, which is to safely remove extreme levels of entrenchment from a safe distance.
