Q: What is the consequence if a unit gets neutralized

After a heavy attack on a unit in a city (e.g with a strength 13 elite strategic bomber) the message "neutralized" arises and a white flag appears.
But what is the consequence of this? I have to attack the unit once again to defeat it and to capture the city the same way as in case of a strongly suppressed unit.

Did anyone observe any effects due to a "neutralized" unit?

It is not unit but city that gets neutralized (and white flag indicates that), and even if it gets recaptured immediately, your opponent will have to wait for 2 turns before he can buy anything there.

Yes. But that always happens when you capture a flag, not just when strategic bombers are involved. Neutralization is a means to deny supply hex to your enemy, but it does not make it easier for you to use it.

So within a successful offensive (without recaptured cities) there is no difference, right? But it's good to know that there is a option to avoid enforcement troops from my opponent in case of not being able to hold a captured city.
