Scenario List with Briefings

Post by McGlu » Wed Oct 01, 2008 9:44 pm

Is there a list of the scenarios and their descriptions documented anywhere? When selecting a new scenario, clicking the year simply brings up the file loader dialog with a bunch of files named after the year. There's a briefing that is displayed after the scenario starts, but I'd like to see all of these descriptions before I load.

I checked the game folders and couldn't find where the scenario text might be stored in plain text. Seems the scenario files are binary.

Any chance a post could be compiled of all the scenarios with the Year/Title [# turns] followed by the complete briefing? I guess I could do this manually and post for everyone, but thought I'd ask before I go to all of the trouble.

BTW, great game!

EDIT: Ah found the text file. I guess I could put this together later tonight and post if anyone is interested.

Nope, not yet. :)

I went through about 30 turns or so in the Tutorial scenario, and checked out the short Waterloo scenario. I'll have more time this weekend to play some of the others.

I also have CEaW, so the gameplay is pretty familiar. I really like the new unit support mechanic - that really adds to the tactical options when ordering units to attack.

Noticed
1808-1812 The Peninsular War [19 Turns]

Should be 1808-1809 since we have shortened down that scenario so I will update the scripts eventually.
