Game Performance

3d really has me worried about performance.
I have a decent system and still, there are very few RTS that can hold 60 fps when there's many units on screen.

PzC can often have 40-50 units on screen, how could frame drops be prevented?

When there are 40-50 units on screen, it means that the view is zoomed out quite significantly, and at such zoom levels the game shows units with less level of detail, in order to keep the complexity of the scene reasonable. I'm not saying that achieving good performance is easy, but this aspect is very high on our priority list.
