A friend got Panzer Corps for Steam and we were planning to break into our first PBEM++ game. I myself was able to sign in to Panzer Corps multiplayer but when I issued a challenge, all I got was a cryptic window with a Message header stating "Unknown error occurred (code=46)".
I restarted Panzer Corps and got the same result, there was no antivirus in place blocking it and Panzer Corps had a Windows Firewall exception already in place. I heard that some issues are related to Internet Explorer, so I verified there was not any proxy set. Internet Explorer (though not my primary browser) can travel around with no hindrance. The Steam game cache for Panzer Corps was verified and came back as OK.
Then I looked into the log in my Documents folder under My Games\Panzer Corps\Log\Log.txt (I've obviously redacted my password for obvious reasons)

Update, user (me) is an ID-10-T
So what I did was break out my original Panzer Corps Wehrmacht installer and code, then installed that for comparison
Tried signing in under the same credentials that I created in the Steam version
This time it kicked me back with an error on signin
So I tried my Slitherine login to rule out some universal networking problem; it worked and I could issue a challenge.
Reinstalled the Steam version, used the same credentials and it works. Phew.
