Yay! I finally get to post something in this section!

ianiow (Syracuse) defeated Snugglebunnies (Median) 62 vs 59
ianiow (Syracuse) defeated Ulysisgrunt (Cyprus) 61 vs 50

There are no easy games in Biblical A anymore. Its a pit of tigers (and bunnies).
I just had this mental image of a deposed monarch walking down the wrong alley and getting mugged. "Look, he's not on his camel today! Get him!" "Quick, kick him while he's down!" "Take his shoes!" "Ah shit! He's figured out how to fight on foot, run!"

Schweetness101 - Andalusian 756-1049AD defeats paulmcneil - Viking 900-1049AD with French allies 888-1049AD : 40 - 9

The map was bisected by a large rough terrain stream. Andalusia filled it up with medium foot and massed archers, and the Vikings didn't have any medium foot, so it was kind of decided at deployment. Vikings did the intelligent thing though and deployed in a great mass square on one side (their right) with light foot in front to cross as quickly as possible, but those light foot were met with massed archers and light horse and driven back and routed, making a quick crossing impossible, leaving the vikings with almost no ranged troops remaining while they faced a great rough terrain redoubt of irregular foot and massed archers to attack.

LOL! Amazingly I think all ianiow's games i.e. wins and losses have been either 3-1 or 2-2 scores.

Please, Pete, May we have another?

Post by Tresantes » Tue Mar 24, 2020 8:59 am

Dear Pete

I can’t imagine how much work goes into running these rounds as smoothly as you do...

But...

In these stressful, uncertain times I would love it if we could roll straight into another round. These games provide a nice little moment of calm (and gnashing of teeth sometimes, of course) in the current storm. And I am finished all nine of my battles...

So if you were to build it, I would come... and maybe many others would too? Lads? Gentlemen?

Regards

Tim (Tresantes)

Tim,

I certainly will not be doing another Season of the FOG2DL straight after this one. I do need to have a bit of a breather and I am also running the KO Tournament from April 1st. Season 8 of the FOG2DL will start as planned on June 1st and I will open up recruitment for that on Monday May 18th. In the meantime it is open to other players to organise something smaller to fill in the gap.

Merci Monsieur.
Great game herm! It really did come down to the wire, though it was more a question of whether I was going to survive for a draw, or not.

That's it for me. Thank you Pete for keeping this all running and hosting the tournament. Thank you to all my opponents for the excellent games. :D

Ianiow once again you have given your opponent a bloody nose despite not having Arabs. I am sure you have broken a record for points scored by not winning  Somebody better take Arabs next season or you will be unstoppable.

Dear players of Div A Bliblical and Classic Ant. and Themed Event at the moment I don't know when I'll be able to go back home and so to play the pending games. I'm in South Africa now stuck here because of the Covid lockdown and without a proper computer allowing me to play. I'll be probably back to Italy (not the heaven for Covid at the moment) within 1 week using the special flight organized by the Embassy, but nothing is 100% sure, so I officially give up and thanks all of you that have waited me to come back. See you next tournament!
