We are releasing a new massive update for Sanctus Reach.
It is probably the biggest free update the game has ever received. Its highlights?

v1.3.0 Changelog:

⦁ Sandbox mode for skirmish - Use any unit combinations for combat!
⦁ Co-op mode for multiplayer - fight alongside a friend in single player maps, or in skirmish!
⦁ Improved Tournament scoring and support.
⦁ Achievements - 12 challenges to test your martial skills!
⦁ Engine bug fixes and performance improvements

We're really curious to see what you think, and we are looking forward to hearing about your feedback.

We will be starting the first tournament ever for Warhammer 40,000: Sanctus Reach, which you can join by clicking here. Please refer to the tournament official thread here here for more information on starting dates and rounds. You will need to register an account on slitherine.com in order to sign up.

The first Warhammer 40,000: Sanctus Reach Tournament will begin on June 1st, at noon UK time. It is the first tournament we will run with our automated system, so there might be a couple of bugs, but hopefully everything will go smoothly. As a test tournament, this will be limited in scope, and only allow for 16 players, but in the future we will be looking into running larger tournaments.

This massive update is part of a broader event on Steam called Skulls for the Skull Throne, completely focused on games set in the Warhammer universe and other settings created by Games Workshop. There are plenty of awesome games in sale for a few days, and you can check it out here:

This game is still alive! It is a lot of fun. Buy it, why not?

Does co-op mode offer 2v2 for multiplayer battles (4 MP players)?

Would be great if FoG 2 did this one day, too!!

Co-Op is 2 v AI, so not team vs team. That would be a bit too much to ask at this stage int eh games life cycle :)

Its still very cool though!

And the tournament is great fun. We had a number of trial runs to get it working right and its really really fun!

Hi,

I am having a problem with the co-op skirmish. Whatever armies we choose to play with or against, the game always falls back to SW against Orks.
For DLCs: I own all, he doesn't have Horrors Of The Warp but everything else.

Any clue why this happens?

I can't repeat this, even when setting up the second account with the same DLCs. Can you please check that your partner is using the latest version (in theory he shouldn't be able to play MP with an older version, but just to check). Are either of you using mods or have altered script files?

Are you both using a Slitherine version, or one or more of GOG or Steam?

Weird. We both use the latest Version on Steam. The only difference is, that he doesn't own the Horrors of the Warp DLC. We have no altered scripts or mods.

Can I suggest you both try verifying your files through Steam and/or reinstalling, if that is practical (the game, not all of Steam :) ). I will keep trying to see what could cause something like this. Sorry for the hassles.

I finally managed to repeat and fix this. It will be resolved in the next update. Until then you can work around the problem by creating the skirmish, then remaining in the MP lobby until the other player has accepted, then start the first turn. Once the initial turn is created and saved with the correct sides all can go on as usual.

I believe this bug only happens for coop skirmishes.

Please send the error file from that run (it is either the most recent if the crash just happened, or it should save a dated error log if you run again). This is in Documents/My Games/SANCTUS. I've not seen a crash in any of my testing, so it is very odd.

Edit: we fixed this by staying in the looby until the game starts - it seems related to coop skirmishes

Thanks for the info. I would imagine that the coming update should fix these issues too, though I have not seen them when testing, when I must have kicked off 50 coop/skirmish games. I will keep checking.
