Pool A-2
Nzsam03 (Early Gatae) 34/57 defeats Ulysisgrunt (28th-30th Dynasty Egyptian) 64/59
Fighting the majority of combat in an open field gave the Gatae medium foot a distinct advantage which the Egyptians could not overcome despite a spirited showing from their greek mercenaries.

Pool A-2 Nzsam03 (28th - 30th Dynasty Egyptian) 54/52 drew with Ulysisgrunt (Early Gatae) 65/60 Very close last turn, with the Egyptians needing 4 more points and the Gatae needing only two. The Egyptians were able to get the points by winning a few lopsided fights, but their disrupted spear could n...

Re: Immortal Fire tournament - recruitment
Hey, I would be most interested in joining, however I am a complete beginner with regards to the game (have played a fair amount of FoG tabletop though), so not entirely sure if this is the right place for me to start? I have played a few games v. the AI and I'm slowly getting the hang of it. Zero ...

Detracting back to the original post. My initial thought regarding Syrian States is the fact its foot is not compulsory. Its LH contingent is strong and it contains lancer cav. Have you thought of dropping the spear making room for more LH? Something along the lines of 4 x TC 2 x 4 Cv Arm Sup Drill...

Thank you all for replying Just my opinion of course, but I think you're IC is a bit wasted. He may end up being critical to your HF spearmen, but chances are he wont make that much difference to them because you're going to try to avoid combat with them anyway. With 14 BG's I'd prefer to have anoth...

Syrian States 800pts
Intended to be both competitive and historical (I hope). Have played a few games with it and been reasonably successful (more wins than losses) 1x IC 2x TC 2x4 Ghilman (CV Armoured Superior Bow Sword Drilled) 2x4 Syrian Lancers (CV Armoured Superior Lancer Sword Undrilled) 2x4 Syrian Lancers (CV Arm...

Commander and combat
In the situation below, two battlegroups in the same army are in combat with enemy battle groups. The commander behind them is in contact with both, but not fighting in eithers front rank http://s1204.photobucket.com/albums/bb408/NZsam03/FoGquestion-1.jpg Is the commander able to add his +1 for bein...

What is the reasoning behind arabs (specifically bedouins) in the swords and scimitars book being denied camel cavalry? http://ageofempires.wikia.com/wiki/Camel "The Camel was a useful mount for warriors in desert regions of the world because it could move quickly across sand and could go long ...

Just basing some models, and don't have the rulebook with me. Can anyone tell me the base sizes for Light Horse, Heavy Foot and Light Foot in millimetres?
Cheers,
Sam
