So did he take the foot and roll poorly??? Inquiring minds who gave bad advice need to know. Surprisingly I have found that protected foot does not do all that well in the case of a cav melee, I had thought the pikes would be more of a deterrent. Guess bad die rolls just spell your doom regardless....

600 Point Early Swedes...

We are playing our first game tonight and I have the choice of taking a more horse dominant army with two units of determined, superior pistol/pistol horse, or adding another Swedish Brigade. I'm going against some dirty, canabalistic Catholic germans.

Any thoughts?

Swedish flags...

Do these look to be historically accurate?

I found these through Google, does anyone know of any other 10mm TYW flag vendors?

Re: Ambush's and Line of Sight...

I have always been confused as to what "line of sight to enemy skirmishers" means, or exactly how visibility works, outside of the effects specified by terrain. I have seen some pretty funky things done with ambushes, and I would just really like to understand how this works in both FoG:A...

All that and looks too. Lovely, just lovely.

Its Swordsmen for the melee capability not Pistol
That will make it rough for them against melee pistol armed horse right?

I am using the Pendraken and think they are amazing.

BNF, if you are planning a defensive battle, you might find 2 BG of firearm LH very useful. They allow you to work them in combination with the HArt / MArt in funneling the opposition, or at least to ensure he spends most time under your guns. My initial list I drew up (mainly to see what extra mod...

Re: Regimental Gun Models

Does anyone know if the Donnington guns are smaller than the Testudo guns, and if so, would it be possible to use these as my regimental guns? I don't know whether they are smaller, but I do know they aren't small enough. The best bet is probably to use guns from a 10mm (or 6mm) range for Regimenta...

Give it a try and see if it works. By the sounds of it shooting is quite deadly so if you can shoot up more of him then he does of you I guess you would stand a better chance of winning. Might need to look at melee POA's to see how you will stand up in the up close and personal fights though, might...

Defensive army...

I have almost all of my Swedish foot painted for 800 points, hoping my horsies are in tonight. The Swedes seem to be a very attacky army, so I was considering doing a defensive army as a second army. Was thinking about the Imperial Spanish with six big boomies, some fortifications, and LT's supporin...

Seems very odd that mounted horse with carbine and pistol are able to outshoot musketeers particularly as salvo fire was developed for the very purpose of shooting apart cavalry at the ranges in question. And given tremendous punishment that salvo firing Swedes dealt out both as casulties and in th...

Yeah, that is what I was referring to as the lip. Well the paint jobs look great. I suppose the base job is crappy...! I actually got a phone call from a buddy on my post, as he knows me better than I know myself, saying that what I was trying to communicate probably came through rude. If it...
