The Greymouser mentioned flank marches :D Now that would be good. As would match ups of unequal armies where one is forced to be the attacker or defender (aside from scenarios ofc). But I have to agree that the manual is fine. I really don't know the ins and outs of the system, but intuition should ...

I am playing the Galatians in the league (it was a brain jam, I meant to put down Sarmations and looked at what others had chosen and the name stuck when writing my choices!). If it makes you feel any better it is probably one of the most boring armies to field (IMHO), little choice in the list and ...

I'm very much in favour of the new evade options so big thanks for this "tweak". No longer does it take careful hex counting to ensure that my Lydian cavalry are far enough back to avoid running away before contact. It also adds a whole new dimension to the tactics :D

Personally I'm happy the rankings don't count Human opponents. There is enough to get depressed about as it is :)

yeah, I was dumbstruck about that at the beginning of the year when I've came to UK. One day of snowing, less than 2 fingers thick snow and nothing worked anymore.. what sort fo country is this?!! :D I do need to ask where you come from. I've heard of measuring depth of snow in inches or CM, but wh...

I'm with Gersen on this one. Although I doubt it has been factored in, the wide ranging results help prevent the game from becoming too mechanical and in favour of "number crunchers and odds counters" No offence is intended by this, but my math skills are not up to it and I favour a more i...

Just want to chip in here. I also hate Anarchy (cept when it happens to the other guy), but as they say, no plan survives contact with the Enemy and the risk is something that needs to be factored in when playing. As ericdomain mentions there are plenty of historical examples of people leaving nice ...

Aha, I suffer this at work as well (as I am sure that most people do). The use of management speak , abbreviations or acronyms can quickly change from shorthand to insider talk to keep newcomers feeling daunted or unsure of what is happening. (for example, when did skirmishers become Psiloi?? eh WRG...

Oh blinkin' heck  That put me on the spot and gives me a chance to show my luddite tendencies on websites and computers. I don't know the ins and outs of websites, but the game's launcher has a link to Slitherine's website. Would it be possible to have another link in there headlined "FAQ...

Iain, I didn't want to double up on my point of army size (above) and your point on newbies. For reference, I am on old (very old now I think on it... ) hand at the table top and have played a few MMORPs out there on the computer. But it can be daunting to switch from messing with the AI to going mu...

massina_nz, I think army size is a personal preference. I do enjoy 400 pt games as there is so much more room to manouvere. 500 - 600 points gives a balanced army, but most lists are at their limit at 800 - 1000 pts and you know you are facing a mob army when the challenge goes out at this level (me...

Quite Right Iain, but even with the time spent creating an auto system what does it actually mean? The easiest way to find out how active it is out there (and it is) is to post a challenge. The only challenges I am reluctant to accept are when I know the other chap only uses the one army (and I am l...

Has to be Wolves from the Sea for me. You have Vikings, Irish, Anglo Danish as well as the Scots :D What is not to love about that! Particularly on the potential scenarios - raids, ambushes and retreats with the booty.

I think I have to lie down now. Too much drooling at the thought of this.

Iain, I have to agree with CheerfullyInsane on this. Anything you put up here on what is going on will become quickly out of date and doesn't seem worthwhile for the time and effort that will be needed to keep it current. What might be more useful is an idiots guide to Multiplayer as a sticky on the...

OK, putting my tuppence in here, but I have to agree that if I issue a challenge it is picked up within at least the hour (and normally within ten minutes). Sometimes there seem to be no challenges out there, but I think Ian has a point that a lot of people seem to prefer accepting challenges rather...

I agree that seeing the map and knowing the game is over before it begins can be frustrating. But, there are plenty of mechanisms in any of the tabletop rule books to draw on that I don't think would be to difficult to bring across to a Computer game. However, I think the most important one is allow...

You are not alone, as this happens to me as well. It can be anoying as a lot of my games end (often badly) over the weekend in the same 24 hour period. It is not a major issue, but it is irksome when you get the error message and there is a game there you really want to accept either because of the ...

I have only tried the camping tactic once or twice when my Germans were heavily outnumbered by the med. Irish. And looking at the Grey Mousers point above, I will repeat that it is only a very small minority of opponents I am talking about.
