Re: New Stuff

I hear you, you would think that with the no brainer-boardgame expansions already in existence, that don't even need any real concept work, making this game more exciting should be a breeze.

But no...

...I bought this game expecting them, and that was Christmas!

Re: Some updates?

I think the game lacks an open campaign maybe with historic starting points. At the moment your actual control is quite limited, chasing armies around a simple map and being limited with diplomacy, deployment and earth works etc, currently I'd find it hard to recommend to fellow wargamers. (going ba...

Re: FATAL ERRROR Crash to Desktop

Sorry hadn't recently saved, I was feeling out the campaign and it was during the first battle.

Non-Steam Collectors Edition.

Will try to save more often and get the info requested.

FATAL ERRROR Crash to Desktop

Just before it crashed during the Toyotoma(?) campaign this pop up occurred:

strlen(tag)<STRING_STORE_MAX_TAG+1
..\Util\StringStore.cpp(422)

pressed OK then COD.

Re: some questions?

Will do a video about a recent amazing battle which was a far more challenging affair than it should have been, it's interesting to watch since I managed to max out terrain advantage to win, I think I was a bit lucky with the random battlefield. Far more challenging than it should have been since th...

Re: some questions?

I'm not interested in P&S at all and I think there's enough content in this game for anybody interested in the period, but you may find like me that the game balance is a little in favour of the AI in most situations, I guess this constitutes as a challenge but it can be a bit jarring and sometimes ...

Campaign bug or intentional?

Background ~ Playing through the Imjin War Campaign as Allies on average/hard. Early Summer 1599 most of the Peninsular has been recaptured from the Japanese armies with 6 victories and 1 defeat (would include screen shots but I have nothing that can manage .tga's). After a lot of frustration chasin...

Re: The AI seems to have a habit of dripping in troops piece

Yep noticed this too, very Total War, the AI seems incapable of attacking in unison with more than a couple of units. I've seen a block of three keep formation and present a level front but it's rare. From what I've noticed they tend to send several disparate units forward and then slowly support wh...

Re: Rallying during combat??? Wth!

30 years of 17c re-enacting (before health and safety and with muskets/edged weapons) I've never seen it. I've been in a well trained group and we were hit five times by three different blocks (there was a lot of rl injuries) at the end of it I couldn't have even told you what unit I was in let alon...

Rallying during combat??? Wth!

Is this a bug? I know Japanese troops have a high level of discipline but... bonkers.

Re: ABOUT THE DICE ROLLS

I've stopped playing it because the unit balance is so pro-US it's just got too annoying, I might do a youtube video to show it, this is especially evident with the German Rogue campaign. I think most of the imbalance is due to 50cal and it being decided that it was far superior to the MG42 which is...

Re: Quick Multiplayer Question.

Really enjoying this game, it's tempting to buy the board version because every time I look at it I keep wishing that the extra units and map tiles will soon be available for the digital version. Main annoying thing is the how many times you have to mouse click after ending your turn, sometimes you ...

Thanks for that!

If it's a hit then expect a few more purchases but this'll give me a chance to show some other interested parties!

Quick Multiplayer Question.

Steam version of the game. I wanted to ask if you need two copies of the game to play multiplayer, since I'm tempted to get the board version instead to play with mates where ofc you only need one copy, and some of the digital reviews have been a bit meh. Got a bunch of mates who live locally and it...
