Re: Allies Defiant : Dunkirk

A recent patch added a new concept of "no-deploy" hexes, for use in exactly this sort of position, where the player should not be able to deploy new units into locations that the game mechanics would usually allow.

Is it permanent (prohibits deployment the whole scenario)?
If yes, maybe add an editor trigger to replace/remove and thus make it more flexible?
They're exactly the same as the deploy hexes, so you can set a time period but not manage via trigger

Re: Which DLC should I buy?

I think I'd always recommend Blitzkrieg.

It's very well balanced and beginner friendly and you can then split to Panzerkrieg or Sandstorm as the next purchase

Re: Order of Battle - Community Crate

A new addition! (which needs you to pay attention!) Now available in the community crate is Conboy's 3d Infantry Campaing. A 20 scenario venture on every front of the Western Theatre! You can download it from the community crate in the top-right in the main menu. Once downloaded, please go to Docume...

Calling Designers and Creators

Hi, We are in a position with quite a few of our titles where we're on the look out for new modders and designers to consider moving over into creating fully releasable content with us. Several of our teams and current colleagues have started from this path including many of the The Artistocrats the...

Re: Winter Tournament - 2020

Congrats to our top 3! weizhinaihe did indeed sneak under the wire! (well played to rth for getting the turns done quickly to give them that chance!) There'll be a new tournament in a few weeks. We need to do some PBEM upgrades and don't want them to clash. But yes, you can busy yourself with Allies...

Re: Winter Tournament - 2020

Thanks for the replies guys, i did not know exactly how the points system worked exactly is all. Luckily my opponent and I managed to slip in an extra round, might have enough points but Shards might overtake yet too. Thanks Slitherine for putting on these tournaments too, a real bonus for what is ...

Re: Winter Tournament - 2020

Hmm, I'll have to check that, but yes, I'd expect the game to end on T14 if you're holding all 4 primary locations

Re: Winter Tournament - 2020

I learned the hard way that the Japanese can block the US crossing of the river on turn 2 with speedy light tanks, thereby allowing a fairly easy concentration around Bay Town. I suppose the US could buy additional engineers to provide extra crossing but unless the initial deployment is changed it ...

Re: Winter Tournament - 2020

Heh, I've tried to defend against paradrops in the design.

Both myself and my opponent have tried and failed with them in my game, which is a good sign

Re: Winter Tournament - 2020

This is all good stuff. The reason why we have the style of scoring we have at the moment is that it scales up to 100+ players quite cleanly and will almost always give a single victor. I think that there's merit to running an invite only swiss/knockout tournament with a limited number of players, b...

Re: Winter Tournament - 2020

There's only ever so much room to describe rules in the briefing. There's usually more specifics in the objectives themselves. I think it would help if both scenario briefing and scenario description was available during game-play, not only at start of the scenario. I know what you mean.... just no...

Re: Winter Tournament - 2020

There's only ever so much room to describe rules in the briefing. There's usually more specifics in the objectives themselves. As with Field of Glory, we need to upgrade the servers for pbem on OOB soon, so we'll pause tournaments for a short while whilst we get that upgrade done. Can't be doing it ...
