Re: Is it possible to make FOG:E autolaunch after closing FOGII?

I don't know if it's working as intended, but in my case (using steam) when empires closes, FOGII launcher starts, but I have to click "start game" to start.
The same happens when I close FOG2 after a battle. FOG:E launcher opens, but I must click to start.

yes, as set out in 11.2.2 of the manual?
If that's the case, I apologize.

Re: Why have my Spartan phalanxes deteriorated in quality

I think the devs should be less opaque about how Empires converts to FOG2. In my experience, which might be wrong, I feel that troop quality is "relative". If the same army fights against a worse general, it has better quality. If then they fight against a better general than your own, they have les...

Trade & Resources guide / strategy?

Is there a strategy or a logic way to manipulate trade in your own benefit? I've seen people praising the trade aspect of the game a lot, but after some turns I've ignored it for the most part. I'm doing fine, but I would like to understand what is going on with trade and maybe building accordingly ...

Re: Future scenarios

Given the FOG2 timeframe at this point (early antiquity to early medieval), I would love to see FOG:E timeline going forward and backwards with different scenarios like the punic wars, Roman civil wars, Alexander the great conquests, the barbarian invasions and there would also be room for the greek...

Re: Buildings Strategy??

You'll have to focus your regions sooner or later because you'll want to reach higher tier buildings which require other buildings of the same type to be created. That said, Having some agricultural and health buildings seems like a must for every province to avoid starvation and help growing the ci...

And does any guide/reference table of the various units exist ?
Obviously that would be better, haha.

Re: Is there any way to give or return territory to allies?

Yeah I'd like to see something in that vein but again I think it has to be very carefully implemented because otherwise it'll tilt back the other way where you start blobbing through client states. To maintain the growth and decline cycle of this game you need to be forced to become bloated and som...

Provincial Units?

I would like to know if there is any way of knowing what is the provincial unit of a province before forming it (without messing with the game files). If there is no way to see it, I suggest adding this info in a future patch because it can be very useful when choosing where to expand and conquering...

Re: Is there any way to give or return territory to allies?

I think a balance needs to be struck, like a hit to your loyalty or legacy or something every time you give up a region. I really like the difficulty in maintaining an empire in this game, and one of the best parts is getting stuck in a war with someone you can defeat and then being straddled with ...

Re: 'Easy' Level - REALLY?!?

I've managed to expand into southern france with Emporia, using field of glory 2 to play the battles. It has been hard but I managed to become a minor power in the area after struggling a lot vs arverni and celtiberia. The game needs to polish some areas... but it's playable and I'm enjoying it a lo...

I've started playin with emporia in the grand campaign scenario and it is hard, but not unplayable. I'm even managing to grow after lots of struggles.

Re: FOG:E —> FOG2 Unit Mapping Config?

Wow, what an incredible comment I've found here, this is on the unit database regarding regular infantry being thureophoroi: There is an issue on the various infantries from the initial DB and I did not scratch it by lack of time, although I suspect that Philippe did it this way, partly for game bal...

Re: First Game: Played as Emporia. Tips?

I wanted to play something different and went for the hellenic power in iberia but I never thought other countries would expand SO fast and there would be that difference between our forces. I just hope to outmaneuver the AI in FOG, but shock troops are a pain and I've lost more than one battle beca...

First Game: Played as Emporia. Tips?

I started my very first field of glory empires campaign as Emporia and I utterly failed... so I started again and I'm "kind of" doing better, but I'm very underpowered compared to my neighbours. Celtiberia and Arverni are juggernauts and dominate the area. Aquitani has been eaten up by arverni and I...

I guess it won't be as easy as

Regular infantry -> Thureophoroi

Am I guessing right?

Re: FOG:E —> FOG2 Unit Mapping Config?

I would like to have a list stating exactly what my FOG:E units will convert into when imported to FOGII... it's quite important to understand what you are going to get if you recruit some units because I'm playing as Emporia as my first game (What a bad choice, it's very hard!) and I think both reg...
