Re: Polaris Sector - v1.06g Update

This thread reminds me of the time I scrapped all mines on my homeworld, just to see what would happen.

Let's just say I *very quickly* picked up on how mineral caps are calculated... :D

Patch 1.06e?

Hi folks,

My Polaris Sector just updated to 1.06e. Can't find anything here or on Steam, didn't check the Russian forums because, well, I don't speak Russian. :)

Anyone know where I can find a change list?

Thanks!

Re: Hydroponics Food Production

Your analysis is spot on. However.. there are a couple counter-points I feel you have overlooked: 1. Hydroponics does give you the ability to turn an otherwise useless planet into a fuel-stop without impacting global food production, which is nice (yes, you can do the same thing with tankers, but th...

Re: Polaris Sector: Lumens - New science options!

I really like the idea of different tech trees - gives the game a lot more replayability!

Can't wait for the expansion, thanks for the sneak peeks / previews!

Thanks Medway! I'm tickled that there is still ongoing development.

Re: A list of features for the next patch or DLC

The forum has been pretty quiet lately.

Is development still being done? I really enjoy the game as it is and am still figuring out little strategies / tips, but ufnv hinted at more to come.

Re: Polaris Sector 1.04b Open Beta

It is? I bought from Slitherine, ran the updater a few minutes ago and saw "You already have the most recent version of Polaris Sector installed on your system."

Start game -> 1.03c.

Oh well. Maybe tomorrow?

Re: How they do that?

I would really like to see developers state a list of all rules that the AI does not need to follow. I'm not talking about production/research/money bonuses, because we tend to expect that. I'm talking about whole game systems that AI is sometimes coded to just outright ignore. I understand why a de...

Re: I hate to bring up tankers again, but...

Tankers really are seriously hindered if they cannot extend the range of a fleet. Tankers travelling with a fleet in being should be able to keep those ships flying. You still will in general sacrifice fleet speed for range. Right now I rarely use them Tankers operating with fleets work precisely a...

Re: Revolting bug?

Do you have a saved game before this colonization? I do, actually. The planet in question belongs to the Vaglars in the SW of the map, called lambda Corona Autralis. A few years from this save I clear out the stations and fighters and bomb it and colonize it, all at once. The save is too big to upl...

Re: micromanagement?

I'll add a vote for "just about right" as well. I have 40 planets all on "micromanagement". It isn't a chore at all -- the game allows you to set up build lists and name them. So I have "Domed - Shipyard", "Ocean Farm4", "Domed Hydro 10", etc. Click once and the planet goes along its merry way for t...
