So Pocus, how many changes to the game are my fault now?
;)
Besides all of them? :D
You've done the game good.

I probably am going to play as Rome (experienced) this my first time out with 1.3.3 (last was 1.1.0).
Thank you.
If you play as Rome in the DLC scenario you won't be able to upgrade to empire, not that there is anything wrong with being a glorious republic.

Re: Venetia can't be successfully attacked

If you attack when the swamp is frozen with lots of Italian Foot (Medium Infantry) and skirmishers rather than heavy infantry and cavalry then your forces should acquit themselves well. Keep at it, if you use multiple armies then stagger them so they arrive separately from an adjacent region and fro...

Thoroughly incompetent leaders should be immune to assassination because of the opportunities their incompetence provides for others to enrich themselves at the expense of that leader. Surely those people would be looking to keep their cash cow/golden goose hale and hearty

There is a key you need to hold down while giving the move order back to the initial region. Control, if memory serves? I do this on a regular basis.

Your memory is good, it is the CTRL key to hold down while you click on the initial region to complete the circle.

You can also let the region revolts, if that's a slave revolt, one slave population will be killed for 3 slave units raised.
Slave revolts should be led by General SpartaPocus.

Re: The Trouble With Latium...

Distributing them around is great but that is limited based on the number of your slave markets (10 maximum I believe per decision). Selling them off when the number gets overwhelming gives you some breathing space when you plan on embarking on a new conquest :) Four slave markets will keep the Slav...

Re: QUESTION: Switching Siege Army

I don't use a dedicated siege army but I do switch out armies, sending my main field army to another region and moving in a weaker or different army to continue the siege and have not noticed any difference as far as effectiveness or effects go.

Neither did I have previous client states nor was Colchis trashed by anyone. They got raided twice (not by me) but defeated both.
Can't imagine what would have been the cause then... besides a bug.
Has it stuck around?

Why did I get this 'bonus'?
Did you have any client states prior to gaining Colchis that got trashed?
In one game I had Dalmatia as a client state that got picked apart like a left-over Thanksgiving turkey by independents and had that message and modifier.

No change here, but you must have very good relationships, and then some offering to RNGesus might be needed. Because RNGesus giveth, but RNGesus taketh too. Seriously this is a temporary measure and with proper diplomacy you'll be able to ask for a specific region.
Thank you Pocus.

Re: Client states

Playing as Rome in v1.05 also. Was finally able to get Samnium as a client state after approximately 100 turns of an alliance and they absorbed themselves in Rome maybe 25 turns later. Just got Etruscans (they had only their capital region and Clanis) to become client state after about 140 turns of ...
