Re: Saar offensive reference works.

Thanks. That video was interesting.

As far as those books go, I'm afraid that I'm addicted to my Kindle and just cant bring myself to read paper books anymore.

Re: AO 1939 scn tree is VERY controversial

Maybe we can have aliens invade in the middle of WW2? Here you go. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000FBFOQY/ref=dbs_a_def_rwt_bibl_vppi_i5 "In the Balance (Worldwar, Book One) (Worldwar Series 1) Suppose Roosevelt, Stalin, Churchill, Hitler, and Hirohito had united to conquer an even greater fo...

Saar offensive reference works.

I was wanting to read up about the French Saar offensive of 1939 and was wondering what books or other works the devs used in creating those scenarios.

Of course I'm open to anyone's reading suggestions on this topic, not just from the devs.

Re: AO 1939 scn tree is VERY controversial

So I am asking the question of questions: Who is enjoying the so far dlcs? And who would buy propably the next ones? I'll certainly buy all the DLCs. They are what, about 15 dollars apiece, spread over at least a couple of years. Heck my old lady and I had my sister and her husband over yesterday a...

Re: AO 1939 scn tree is VERY controversial

So this is my last post in the PzC2 forum, I'm going back to "my" games because it's not "my" game anymore Isn't that a bit rash? Even though I disagree with your opinion of the DLC, you have been a valuable member of this community and if you leave your input will be missed. Nobody should think le...

Re: AO 1939 scn tree is VERY controversial

"Well, so far we've at least not been accused of reselling the same old Grand Campaign all over again in the sequel." I'm pretty sure if you had made the DLC to resemble the original panzer corps campaign, you'd have someone else making a thread complaining about it. Probably with similar ...

Re: AO 1939 scn tree is a disaster

Ok, I got it Our main character, German general was assigned to defense western border of 3rd Reich and when he succesfully accomplished his task, he was immediately transferred to Poland to support... What? Chasing the remnants of the Polish army through the forests? Everything that was most impor...

Re: Spanish Civil War Tank Parade Art by arseniquez

Yes, Napoleon always tried to operate on interior lines and defeat his opponents one at a time. He tried and failed to pull it off against Wellington and Blucher. Mainly because Blucher refused to accept defeat after the battle of Ligny and marched to Wellingtons aid at Waterloo. Its possible he cou...

Re: Spanish Civil War Tank Parade Art by arseniquez

Life tends to be anti - climactic for everyone but God and small children. Like , for example , we know now that even if Bonaparte won Waterloo he was going to be dead of stomach cancer in just a few more years anyway. And , arguably , the Bonapartists , like the Nazis , had their rock star , but ,...

And in any case wars have to be won via victory on the battlefield - they are not won in factories. Wars may not be won in factories, but history is filled with examples of wars that were not won on the battlefield. Vietnam is only one of the latest examples. The North Vietnamese lost virtually eve...

Re: SCW Ebro - need ideas

Italy had the misfortune to rearm to early. Their stuff was halfway decent by mid 30s standards. But by the eve of ww2 it was becoming obsolete and Italy could not afford to replace it. Those good Italian tanks in the game, are actually a little early if im not mistaken. I don't think they were deve...

Re: SCW Ebro - need ideas

Also, I should of bought trucks for my Italian infantry. Some of them had a long walk from the top of the map to the far south. Lol Good point here. I bought it for my aux Italians and while at first it seemed I wasted some prestige, it soon proved invaluable, as things get hot really quickly and g...

Re: The First Nemesis: Comandante Vega

As for Nemesis in Russia... I'm not really aware of any Spanish fighting in Russia, except for the Blue Division siding with the Germans. So no we almost certainly won't see too many foreign Nemesis units by the time the campaign reaches Russia, though the choice of elite Soviet opponents is going ...

Re: SCW Ebro - need ideas

I just posted this on steam, but I guess it won't hurt to repost it here. I just finished Ebro on my generalissimo playthrough. What a bloodbath!!! I went on the offensive immediately and forced crossings in the center and north center in order to pincer the enemy artillery in the hills. It was bloo...

Re: Should Panthers be cheaper?

And in general, why do tanks have such very high SA? My guess would be that tanks have a high shock effect on soft targets. Most tanks also carry one or more HMG. These would contribute to SA. But I agree with Nexus - SA values on tanks do seem a little high. It's a well known historical fact the t...

Re: SCW - What's the Point?

Well, I liked the DLC, I liked the idea of starting in Spain, and I don't feel I'm alone in that. Also, declaring Spain a backwater where nothing of interest happened is pretty bold. If we are going to "rank" wars, Poland is the backwater conflict, with its whole 5 weeks of fighting (which isn't to...
