Alternative Gameplay Mod

Although not completed, I figured I should make a more permanent home for this mod here with a single, easier to take in list of all of the features and changes, rather than the longer and more confusing version by version changelist of the original thread in the much busier main forum. download for...

Re: [Suggestion] Better Campaigns

See FrenchDude's post from yesterday in this thread: https://www.slitherine.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=477&t=98555&start=40 I suspected he was working on something, but other than linking Empires to the TT Mod I don't know what he is trying to achieve. interesting! maybe I'll wait to see what he com...

Re: [Suggestion] Better Campaigns

I actually had high hopes that FoG: Empires would fill this need. Unfortunately the portion of the game that translates units from Empires to FoG2 was handled extremely poorly, with generic units in Empires that often translated into something completely different in FoG2. Sometimes 1 unit becomes ...

Re: Larger armies right across the FOG2 Digital League?

In a way it's odd that Early Middle Ages has larger armies than Classical, when historically I imagine it would generally be the opposite based on what we know of army sizes. yeah this as well, larger classical armies would feel more historical than large early middle ages armies, but I do like EMA...

Re: Larger armies right across the FOG2 Digital League?

I'd also like to see large battles for classical antiquity, because although medium size is fun they tend to feel more like large skirmishes than full battles. It looks like most people prefer a balance of sizes across eras though. Perhaps if classical antiquity was made large one of the others tha...

Re: Early Middle Ages: winners post your results here . . .

Division A Schweetness101 - Andalusian 756-1049 AD defeats dkalenda - Byzantine 988-1041 AD 48-23 the map was heavily in my favor, where my side had a large open plain, flanked by dense forests that were in turn protected by mountains, and all of that behind a severely disordering stream. With super...

Re: Vegetius: second vs third formation?

what about making the right flank more vulnerable than the left in close combat? If you look for modding ideas : what about a huge mod with cavemen, aliens, Napoleonic soldiers, galleys or whatever else ? You’re good at modding. Warhammer Fantasy or Lord of the Rings total conversion please! ...

Re: Vegetius: second vs third formation?

Soldiers have their shields on their left, so advancing on the left flank would expose yourself to fire on your unshielded side. And it is a lot easier for mounted troops to fire arrows or throw javelins to the left across the body vs to the right. Of course none of this applies in game. do you thi...

Re: Alternative Gameplay Mod v1.2

One thing I would think could be suitable is for routed units to still stand a chance of being rallied if within 4 squares of its commanding SG or the C-in-C (or maybe any friendly general), but with a reduced likelihood of the cohesion test taking place (maybe same level as the general test in van...

Re: Alternative Gameplay Mod v1.2

Basically something like this then? Anarchy: Disciplined. Anarchy: Undisciplined. Anarchy: Exempt. yes Maybe the In Command and Out of Command should then not be shown at all for lights , since it's not applicable to them? the issue with this is that being in and out of command still matters for li...
