Re: Disorder effect on close combat win, draw, loss probabilities?

So currently I'm specifically interested in how Disorder (and Cohesion) percentages affect the win, draw, and loss probabilities, given a certain PoA modifier. But maybe it's not attainable? It is impossible to give one percentage which covers all situations. In the words of Einstein: "Everything i...

Re: Disorder effect on close combat win, draw, loss probabilities?

Check the manual, pages 80-82. Ie there is no short answer to your question, it depends who is fighting what and where, is it impact or normal melee. Have read the manual: unfortunarely too general, for my taste. Is there a long answer to my question? :) Or an old thread about this? You are of cour...

Re: New FOG2 DLC?

We know there is something in the works, whether it is a DLC or a whole new game has not been revealed. For example yesterday RBS said in the Open Beta forum there will be no new animations for next patch, as "all available art time is going on another forthcoming project". http://www.slitherine.co...

Re: Romans and Galatians

Considering Galatians led by Amyntas fought at Actium together with Octavian against Marc Antony and Cleopatra, the galatians are guaranteed to have fought as allies with the romans.

Re: Should overwatch react to incoming fire?

Is it possible to make Overwatch conditional when/if reacting to fire? Ie you can give Overwatch orders which by default triggers only on movement, but you can then choose whether it should also trigger on incoming fire.

Re: The Rally Point (discussion and questions)

It's all getting too Machiavellian for me. There is no-one so far deliberately not choosing armies to try and get a marginal advantage. Just because I am paranoid doesn't mean everybody is not trying to get me :p For me it is not so much for getting an advantage, but to get an army I would be somew...

Re: The Rally Point (discussion and questions)

Pete, how pissed off would you be if I removed my army selection choices from Early Medieval? As per the PM you sent to us, anybody who hasn't sent a list of army choices by the end of Wednesday have to choose from whatever is left. So with slot 10 assigned to me it would open up quite a bit more ch...

Re: The Rally Point (discussion and questions)

Just pick 4 armies you enjoy using that you think can cope with most terrain types and the various army categories. That "enjoy using" is the part I am refering to :) For example I enjoy from the Early Medieval Arab armies, Viking armies, Indian armies, Byzantine armies, and oh yes, the Dail...

Re: The Rally Point (discussion and questions)

Man, I wish people would select their armies already :D For example, I am dead last to choose in my division in Early Medieval (even though there are people who last season kicked my butt so hard I didn't know where home is :( ) so it is hard to plan on what armies to put in my selection list. Curre...

Re: Does citizens suppossed to have different productivity?

It's not region unrest. Each citizen has an unrest value. The more citizens you have the higher the new citizen's value for unrest/productivity. This is correct. Each region has a maxiumum value after which the citizens will start to produce less (as they are more and more unhappy as Gray Fox above...

Re: rs2excelsior's Lessons Learned & Tactical Musings

I *think* the only difference between the two is that close order acts like heavy foot and is disordered in terrain, while loose order is treated as medium foot but gets the penalty to cohesion tests when in the open. I don't think the close order warbands get that penalty, is that correct? Right, ...

Re: Any questions . . .

Do you have to nominate allies when you pick your armies. I did not see it stated in the rules for picking unless I missed reading it Yes. Every signup thread starts with the label "INSTRUCTIONS". There are listed the instructions how to select the armies you would like to use. The instructions spe...

Re: Medium Foot Rebalance Discussion

This is true, but I think that if we are going to say that MF are a bit more like HF in certain types of terrain (i.e. they will experience some disorder), then I think we also need to say in that mod that MF are a bit more like HF in open terrain and look to give them something back in compensatio...

Re: Medium Foot Rebalance Discussion

I think Medium Infantry should be "Slightly Disordered" in rough terrain, and in addition the command range of leaders should be cut by a bit. As it is now it is hard to get outside of command control of C-in-C, and then you have subcommanders lending a hand too. Medium Infantry feels like they are ...

We are up to 38 players already so I am opening up a fifth division now. The maximum number I can cope with is six divisions, making 60 players, which is unprecedented. The only other time we have had 5 divisions in Classical Antiquity was in Season 1.
Pete, you rock :)
