Re: Point of Special forces?

Great sniper hunters in Burma scenario, also occasionally good for attacking other stuff. Usually best to use them in jungle terrain where they can sneak around without issue and nail runners. 10CP to attack with zero cost in efficiency/reinforce is not a bad deal, but I question why they should hav...

Re: Horse Transport

Horses living a normal lifestyle of mostly pasture existence with some light labor or riding can afford to spend 8-12 hours a day feeding, self grooming and taking care of themselves. They also need regular play and love spending time with people. Horses in an army doing heavy labor must be fed oats...

Re: Color photos of WWII

I certainly hope she'll show up in Red Steel. As Svetlana Alexievich showed, the role of women in the Soviet military was massively underplayed due to Soviet chauvinism. It'd be nice to see more women in an army that had huge numbers of them in every role from fighting infantry to colonel to fighter...

Panzer Strategy is actually worse than it looks because the units incessantly repeat the same loud and very obnoxious quotes. I refunded it.

Re: The PzC 2 storm is finally here.

I bought it, largely because I saw a developer post about how A) he's Russian and has creative control, so they're not going to do something as obscenely terrible as Soviet Corps again and B) that he wants to do way more (and way better) Allied content than PzC1 got. Given that the US Corps campaign...

Re: funny bug in Belgium

Somua S35 was an excellent medium tank with quite thick armor for the period. Most of your German tanks won't pen it or will minimally pen it. Use your JU-87B to smash them, or use Panzerjaeger/towed AT to hit them hard with reaction fire on defense. Flak 36 will shred them in AT mode. Your PzIII if...

Re: anti-tanks

The US was very much part of the imperial presence in China prior to the Japanese invasion. It wasn't nearly so bad as the British had been, but it also wasn't blameless. What imperial presence did we have, besides the Yangtze patrol? And in the end, US support would mean little, so long as the Sov...

Re: anti-tanks

For some sick reason I could care less what the Japs did to the Chinese even though it was back then during WWII have this view .. probably because of the US helping the Chinese during WWII and then they got involved with Korea and the Chinese were horrendous toward us they invaded Korea and steam ...

Official Discord?

Discord is pretty handy for keeping tabs on games and chatting with people who like them. Lots of other grognardy and grognard lite games have one, does this one?

Re: Will there be an Order of Battle 2

Overall, near future plans are still about DLCs for OOB (1). What happens later is something that has yet to be determined. Exactly one for the USSR. Three for the Allies. Maybe three for the Axis Six for Axis. Morning Sun, Rising Sun, Winter War, Nazi x3. Also USSR was in the Allies, as was China....

Thx for the hint, 43 is certainly too late. This will be moved forward to be available for France 40 in the next version.
Please don't move units to ahistorically early dates! A few months is one thing, this is years early!

Sturmpanzer wasn't even designed until 43, why would you get it in 1940?

Re: Against Top Level AI

I largely agree with the rework, but I will say that I was probably overly harsh on tactical bombers. I felt that a strong message needed to be sent because I so often see people go for multiple tactical bombers and 0-1 strategic bombers and that just makes no sense. You are essentially correct with...

Re: Against Top Level AI

Winter War is very different from most campaigns. Pretty good, but much lower tech overall. Not much by way of tanks, artillery etc. I also went for a heavy infantry focus (with a couple of snow troopers) as it is most reliable source of ranged attack. I strongly recommend against tacs but in this c...

Re: Against Top Level AI

Hello, Recently acquired OOB. Thought I would see how challenging the game plays with the AI at the hardest level. Has anyone else had success at this level? Any clues on strategy? Since I actually play on the hardest difficulty I will give you some actual advice. IDK why people who don't are posti...

Re: Soviet Union

Play through Soviet Corps and you'll understand what I mean. The only reason this game didn't get the reaction COH2 did when it launched a similarly offensive Soviet campaign is not nearly so many people play it. Shades of Enemy at the Gates yet again. US Corps is quite long, well designed and a lot...

Re: Soviet Union

FM owners have 2 free dlc that will be released in 2020 ... so we can hope they will be Soviet and Allied campaigns... In fact Soviet Corps is least popular in Panzer Corps 1. I wouldn't be shocked given how badly designed it is and how deeply offensive and frankly racist the mission briefings are....

Re: OOB & Panzer Corps 1 - Strikingly Similar

I remember trying to use heavy tanks in Burma. They got bogged down because jungles were everywhere. They would still lose efficiency on roads, if memory serves. Light tanks are much better, having the light tread trait, whatever its called. Heavy tanks are only really viable on open, non-efficienc...

Re: Maps seem a bit flat

Weather is always shown in the top right, current weather and the next days. Weather type is indicated by the icon, sunny, cloudy, raining, snowing, stormy. And the colour suggests the ground state - green = clear, brown=muddy, white=thick snow, blue=thick snow and frozen lakes/rivers. City names i...
