Re: Cavalry speed and stats

I think they should just be treated as faster infantry, as far as I know they fought unmounted. This is false. As late as 42 divisional cavalry charges were still being used in Rzhev as detailed in Glantz's multi volume coverage of the fighting there. This meant a saber charge on the enemy, typical...

Re: just returned to OOB

Experience is very valuable on fighters, tactical bombers, engineers and armor. On infantry it is nice to have, on artillery and strategic bombers you basically get it for free. AA and AT will basically never get vet so no reason to stress with them. In air other than model advantage and AA support ...

Re: Cavalry speed and stats

At the moment, all cavalry units are at 6. Right as all regular infantry, marines, commando, paratroopers, jap snipers, even many tanks... Heavies & engineers have 4. Only the Chinese Militia has 5... It's really the only infantry unit to have 5, by the way. But, compared to some regular chinese in...

Re: Question for the game/customazation regarding RAF nationalities

Steam reviews will blow up if you don’t take account of nationalities, people get real mad about that

Re: FUTURE of ORDER OF BATTLE

Oh, I'd love to do a bigger Korea cam. Can't really say if it materializes in the near future tho. As for wild ideas, there are various things being considered, but I wondering if people would like a cam with France 1940, with the option to go to Free France afterwards. However, players would *not*...

Re: Tell me about Difficulty

So, I am close to complete Morning Sun and I have to say on difficulty IV it has been a cakewalk, almost too easy. I am tempted to switch to V. Is that normal for that campaign? I hope future ones will be harder. Yeah Morning Sun is very easy, it’s a prequel campaign against a fairly weak foe. Lots...

Re: Request for CP options (especially Air)

The German advantage is numerous reasonably armored reasonably strong self propelled artillery units for good CP cost at pretty much every point in the campaign and extremely strong tanks. Not to mention actually good SPAA and mechanized transports early! The combination allows them to put together ...

Re: Request for CP options (especially Air)

Allies Stra Bomber is really a cheating weapon. Extremely good surrvivable, long range, duration. And whats worse ? They cause dmg nearly as good as a tactical bomber, and have the bombardment ability of a heavy arty unit..... Even early Allies Stra Bombers can do better than the ultimate one in En...

Re: how to destroy a bridge

I am curious, what's the penalties involved in fighting in rivers? All I know is that casualties get higher. Unit in a river takes +1 casualty and does -1 to enemy. The cover % is usually zero and the attack/defend modifiers are usually 1:1 which means a tank attacking infantry in a river is going ...

Re: Trouble in Batan defense

Speaking specifically to this scenario on max difficulty, you're wasting RP if you're not letting the fort absorb some attacks and get destroyed. Your core sticks around, the fort doesn't. I typically just blow the bridges and pull back to the gold objectives as fast as possible after hitting the ho...

Keep in mind that destroying a bridge over a frozen river is entirely pointless.

Re: Okay... so is there any factors increase chance of destroying enemies instead of forcing them retreat

Light tanks lack quick retreat, so they end up actually taking more damage from strong units. My T70 got hammered with a 7 damage smack, this would never happen to a Ba-10 which quick retreats from 4 damage max while still delivering the reaction fire of the AT behind it. The advantage of the light...

Re: What new units would you like to see in the second allied dlc?

If we’ve learned anything in this thread it is that everyone wants to have their groups represented as important and key to the fight, so the best way to do that is probably the way they’ve been doing: UK and likely US as core elements, whichever nations were present in a particular scenario as mino...

Re: Okay... so is there any factors increase chance of destroying enemies instead of forcing them retreat

Artillery pieces aren't frontline units, they fight from behind. Recon vehicles ARE frontline units (they can only attack units next to them) but can't really fight. Light tanks are better because they can at least deal with infantry, although since only the Americans get a late-game light tank, ov...

Re: What new units would you like to see in the second allied dlc?

I like to play with captured vehicles , I hope there will be more. I always upgrade them into main line units as they usually aren’t a good fit. Ex Stug for British when you have better SPART in Bishop. Sole exception is the Marder you can briefly get in the Soviet campaign although that trigger se...

Re: Okay... so is there any factors increase chance of destroying enemies instead of forcing them retreat

Recon cars and light tanks are excellent at chasing down runners. If you don’t currently include them, you should do so and excuses about not having space for them in your deck are malarkey as I’ve included them in damn near every mission that didn’t start me with them. The main reason people don't...

Re: What new units would you like to see in the second allied dlc?

Canada had their own beach on D-Day, so I'd hope they are represented as more than some token auxiliaries. The First Canadian Army also had Polish, Dutch, Belgian, and Czechoslovak units within their command. I hope the designers continue to reflect the multinational nature of the Allied forces (an...

Re: What new units would you like to see in the second allied dlc?

For the second DLC I also agree that it should focus entirely on the Mediterranean theatre and follow the Allied Armies into Italy at least until the final battle of Monte Cassino. In terms of units I think it would be nice to see Rangers replace the role that US Marines hold in the current roster ...
