Re: BG firing long and short range
Okay, the BP you refer to on p107 applies only when a line of shooters faces a line of enemy targets that are an equal distance away and are offset such that the target bases are exactly 50% in front of one shooting base and 50% in front of the next shooting base. This is as described in the first t...

Re: Britcon 2016 12-14 August

I had a great time all weekend and i would like to thank all my oponents for a numbers of well play ed and fun games, and for your patients and good sportsmanship. Hi Fredric, good to see you again. Can you pass on these authors' names to Fredrik ...

Re: Regimental Guns POA Question
Hi Ptolemaic, sorry it's taken you so long to get a reply, I haven't looked at the forum in a couple of weeks. 1. Their range is the maximum shooting range of their battle group. Not sure which page that's on, you'd have to check through the index to find it. However, you should note that if you det...

Now look, we all know Hannibal's low opinion of Tim, but to say playing him was a walkover is maybe a bit strongalasdair2204 wrote:to be fair I still remember that game, one of those I scraped a victory by default

Re: tercios with bow
I think you're right on 1 & 2
The bow will count as protected MF in the open so mounted won't get that +1 against them in impact, but, obviously, they aren't protected shot so they don't get that +1 against mounted and all weapons that are negated by protected shot count against the bow.

Personally I thinks its appalling all these players going for cavalry armies, shouldn't be allowed, Martin have a word (Three of my favourite armies Tatars, Early Danish and Later Austrian) cheers Alasdair Look, it was Gordon's decision to use Tatars at the Doubles. Get over it! I have. Dave (No wa...

Hah! Serves me right for not checking before writing.johngl wrote:The + for artillery shooting always counts against a tercio, irrespective of whether any file is 3 ranks deep: it's "Battle troops which...are a tercio", as a separate bullet from the 3 ranks bit.

Re: Later Tercios
Three parts to this answer: There are no circumstances where a Later Tercio ceases to be a Tercio. So it retains the capacity to self-support and shoot sideways even when reduced to six bases (or five if superior or four if elite). The greater vulnerability to artillery is due to it being three base...

That's me and Gordon registered.
I suppose it's possible Gordon had already registered us, but with such a very small possibility I'd rather double book than miss out.

Re: Intercept Charge
No difference in FoGR - the only interception that is able to charge into contact with enemy is one that can make a flank charge on the on the original chargers (ie those being "intercepted"). Otherwise they stop short of the enemy and wait to be contacted by the chargers.

It was touch and go whether I turned up on the Friday I was feeling so rough, but a decent night's sleep made for a much more pleasant Saturday until I tasted that damned burger. Back to curry next year! I can't believe I came fourth after such a roller coaster ride (lose/win/lose/win/lose/win). Tha...

So Kevin,
How about following the Roll Call precedent and announcing the draw in advance?
That way I can make an informed decision about when to turn up Friday evening

Re: Detaching shot from Late Tercios
Point 1 it's 12 minutes to midnight and I've been drinking.
Point 2 I think the only way it can be done is if you take two LTs of 9 bases (6Sh/3P) and create an LT of 12 (6Sh/6P) and a BG of 6 Shot, or possibly and LT of 10 (4Sh/6P) and a BG of 8 Shot.

I would place little credence to these predictions. Hunter does this every year and has a one hundred percent record in that he is always totally wrong!!
