Re: 4 player MP restart
Just saw that. Irish Guard responded in game saying he is in for 4 majors and free alliance play and that he would post here, but he hasn^t yet. Maybe he misunderstood which forums I meant? Not sure if he is active around here. Maybe you could start a 4P each player choosing a major from a specific ...

4 player MP restart
Starting this thread as we had a 4p game that due to misunderstanding had to restart and its much easier to communicate in a thread rather waiting to end a turn in a game that goes nowhere to exchange msgs. The game had Irishguards, Lunderdoff and Bertram. Should I suggest we each take a major and h...

No dedicated forum for Multiplayer games?
How come? I am searching for groups and games and it is kind of difficult to discern which thread is active & which it isn't.

Re: Recruitment is now open . . .
Didn't read the whole thread. How many players will be there? I guess there will be a single elimination match rather than 2 games per pair (?) There will be 64 players and yes, it will be one match each round. The aim of the tournament is to fill in the space between seasons of the FOG2 Digital Lea...

Re: New FOGII (April 2018) Campaign Tournament (bbogensc)
Is there any chance to not have map defined by Pot luck? It would be very underwhelming to battle in Gaul and map be tropical. Moderator could arbitrate map type for each battle, or with some work define each province's map type. I could do it, post it and moderator and/or the players could make cha...

I will take Macedonian. Isn't the time period lists automated? Or can I choose any Macedonian list? Edit: Antigonid 320-301 if that's an option for the Macedonians. If not, Macedonian 328-321 Second edit: Ok had to inspect the map to get that Antigonids and Macedonians are seperate. So, I'll take Ma...

Re: Remove the Head in Multiplayer
Obviously this isn't a major suggestion but I think that it is a simple, easy super easy to implement, and positive for the specific scenario type.
Again obviously the developers seek to go for major overhauls and improvements, but should we be barred from discussing minor and easy improvements?

Editor: making a branching campaign
I just started toying with the editor and I wonder if we can make a branching campaign. If there is a way to have the player play a different battle depending on the result of the previous one. For example if Battle A was a decisive victory then proceed to Battle D. If it was a minor defeat proceed ...

Re: Sandbox Campaign suggestions
If you know, you probably do, GMT's board game Successors, I believe these mechanics, simplified, would perfectly fit Field of Glory 2. While it being map based, it really has nothing to do with moving blocks of numbers from this area to the next, occupying this region and evacuating another. Campai...

Re: Can A Small Number of Skirmish Units be Useful?
If you have skirmisher superiority you can dictate the terrain of the battle. You can draw armies from fortified positions or force others to assault your own. That's the advantage above all else. But even if you don't have a chance to gain that superiority, based on comparable army lists, even then...

Re: Small suggestions thread
When a unit is hidden have an icon to clarify that to the owning player When a unit is disordered, it would be perfect if this would be depicted in the unit's animation - or as a color indication in their banner (as with fractured/fragmented units). It could be a grey bar getting blacker the more di...

Re: Disappearance of the Armoured Hoplites?
Regarding the decline of the renowned Corinthian helmet: Hoplite warfare was simple and not much tactical; Hoplites formed lines and marched orderly against the enemy. Later on though tactics prevailed, and smaller units needed to maneuver, so officers would need to be heard by their soldiers. The C...

Re: Campaigns for Multiplayer
I've seen several fan made campaigns in the Tournaments and Leagues section. I haven't managed to grab a spot in one of them up to now, but they seem fun. You could make a platform that helps the GMs (moderators?) of each campaign to manage it. I mean, no need to build an AI or other automated featu...

Re: Field of Glory II Tournament Suggestions
I have to ask, why so complicated point scoring systems instead of having knockout games until you get a final match? I had this idea of team tourneys. It's a bit cheesy, but I will post anyway: 1) Teams has 3 players each 2) Before a match, each team sets each of it's players in a flank (left-cente...

Never played Pbem before, how does it work?
I want to put up a challenge to get started with multiplayer. Never played Pbem before though, and I am afraid I will mess up with the mechanics. How does it work? Do I have upload and e-mail savegames to the opponent or is it automated? Also what should I expect in terms of time per game? Do multip...
