You do realize that the vanilla campaign for PC1 was more or less (I'd say slightly less) a re-hash of Panzer General? Exactly my point: how is that acceptable? folks, been playing this thing on normal difficulty and honestly I do not see how anybody can win this thing, with as stingy as they are with prestige. Time and time again my units get beaten down, drained of points, weakened to the point of worthlessness, and I have no money and tons of objectives...

Creating random battles in the editor is not a good workaround. Editors still need to script the AI units. Without scripting they will just sit there. In single or multiplayer, it appears one can only choose 1 nation to play but not who to play against. Unless I am missing something...why is this? Fighting the USA vs the USA (mp hotseat) seemed...weird. Random map generator does have an option to specify a nation for each player, and you can see ...

Arty on local defense may try to move a bit which can be wanted or not depending on what you intend/prefer :)

Thanks.

Have garrison units across a front with tanks and light armor behind them that I want to use as local counter-attacks. Sounds like Local Defense (5) is the way to go.

Also - artillery and AA - what do you recommend as a setting? Static or local defense?

Have a scenario with enemy AI minefields, but didn't know the procedure - the result was enemy running into their "own" minefields.
