Re: Battle Academy: Team Yankee
"If I Had More Time, I Would Have Written a Shorter Letter" - Pascal Abstraction is difficult, and I'm sure that modelling abstract systems actually requires more time and creativity - RATHER than actually building a more detailed model. It is also something that I feel most 'wargame' developers shy...

Re: Terrain
I don't think it would be possible to emulate the hills of Korea accurately in Battle Academy BUT there could be some abstraction with restrictive terrain. Maybe adding rocks and trees to hill masses to limit the moment of tanks would work.

Re: Why hasn't WEGO dominated?
I think one of the reasons that it has not caught on is that designing an AI for such games must be a nightmare. But that is just a guess. I agree. I'm sure it's very difficult. Flashpoint Campaigns AI employs no noticable or coherent tactics. It is just large blobs of units moving towards victory ...

Re: [WISH] Modern Mod
It would be interesting, but I feel like it would be kinda hard to mod in stuff like helicopters(unless you used them as the support icon I suppose, much like aircraft are) and anti tank missiles. Modern combat would certainly offer much faster combat results - which may not be 'fun' for some. For ...

Re: Why hasn't WEGO dominated?
I think WEGO is a great concept that is used poorly in video games - most developers don't understand how military decision making is done within a chain of subordinate commands and their depiction is usually highly unrealistic and very un-fun to me. The two games that come to mind are Flashpoint Ca...

Re: Battle Academy: Team Yankee
Although we do have the groggier stuff like Flashpoint Campaigns: Southern Storm to look forward too as well. Yeah, unfortunately not all of us are looking forward to it. Also really funny to me, that FC is considered a 'grog' game. In my opinion, not a very realistic depiction of combat. Everythin...

[WISH] Modern Mod
I'd love to see a modern conflict mod with the BA2 game engine. More specifically, I think the BA2 engine would be great with a focus on low intensity conflict: Vietnam, Iraq, Afghanistan, Eastern Ukraine, etc.. Is there anyone out there that is interested in seeing modern conflicts? I would be happ...

Re: Refunded
You do realize that the vanilla campaign for PC1 was more or less (I'd say slightly less) a re-hash of Panzer General? Exactly my point: how is that acceptable? There could've been something done to innovate - maybe a focus on smaller lesser known battles - hell, something a-historical? I don't kno...

Refunded
I have requested a Steam refund - pending - I have "6 hours" in game, some time was spent in the editor. Bottom Line: This game should not have been released in its current state. The developer responses of 'more is coming' is not acceptable. At least a hotfix should have been released by now, given...

Re: Panzercorps game
folks, been playing this thing on normal difficulty and honestly I do not see how anybody can win this thing, with as stingy as they are with prestige. Time and time again my units get beaten down, drained of points, weakened to the point of worthlessness, and I have no money and tons of objectives...

Re: Random Scenario Nation Choices
Creating random battles in the editor is not a good workaround. Editors still need to script the AI units. Without scripting they will just sit there. Random scenarios generated in the Editor are exactly the same as random scenarios generated in game. Behind the scene the game invokes the Editor to...

Re: Random Scenario Nation Choices
In single or multiplayer, it appears one can only choose 1 nation to play but not who to play against. Unless I am missing something...why is this? Fighting the USA vs the USA (mp hotseat) seemed...weird. Random map generator does have an option to specify a nation for each player, and you can see ...

Re: Thank You
220 Steam hours racked up, still installed, and still played regularly. It's one of my top 5 games played on Steam. Still the best Slitherine release in my opinion, and hours of endless fun 1. GREAT mission design; realistic objectives and good scripting. Not gamey or overbearing. 2. Cooperative Mul...
