Re: FUTURE of ORDER OF BATTLE
I'll reiterate Korea, but I also think the Falklands could be done as a single, massive land-air-sea scenario. Might seem a bit much to put in all that effort for one mission, but since it's the only war since WW2 to feature notable naval combat (with the plausible potential for more to have happene...

Re: Trouble in Batan defense
The key to holding out in Bataan, I believe, is to not buy any units whatsoever. They give you ample command points, but since you have no resource income, if you spend your existing resources on deploying the most units you can, you won't be able to take many losses. The last time I played it, I ha...

Re: What new units would you like to see in the second allied dlc?
Rangers are definitely commandos.
The issues people are having with making them so are really more a problem with how commandos function in this game than the fact they're being labelled commandos (which they were).

Re: Air/Navy Battles
I believe that the primary guns on battleships get a large damage penalty if the ship has moved before firing. The ship needs to stay where it is to do full damage.
I personally never use them. They're far too expensive for what you get out of them

Re: Air Combat Info
I find the ideal carrier loadout to be a historical one - one fighter, one dive bomber, one torpedo bomber. You need the dive bomber because depending on the range, the torpedo bomber may only get the chance to launch one torpedo, and even if not, two torpedoes usually can't quite kill a ship unless...

Destroying the enemy force efficiently with a mix of fire units that can weaken and chip damage the enemy (chiefly artillery and strategic bombers), shock units that smash them after weakening (armor and infantry), and chase and exploitation units that can run them down and finish off the remnants ...

Re: Okay... so is there any factors increase chance of destroying enemies instead of forcing them retreat
Light tanks lack quick retreat, so they end up actually taking more damage from strong units. My T70 got hammered with a 7 damage smack, this would never happen to a Ba-10 which quick retreats from 4 damage max while still delivering the reaction fire of the AT behind it. The advantage of the light...

An Allies Defiant AAR
Since no one has done one yet, I guess I will. And this time, I've learned from the AAR I attempted years ago: don't rely on replays! I had to stop that one because my Guadalcanal replay was totally bugged. This time, I made screenshots as I played instead. As a gimmick, I tend to try to utilize div...

Re: Okay... so is there any factors increase chance of destroying enemies instead of forcing them retreat
Artillery and AA and AT will also get chewed up by any unit that isn’t dead attacking them. They’re also vital components of any deck in almost every scenario. The ability of recon cars to provide safe access to mass attack bonuses by double stepping around a unit and then hitting again for a follo...

Re: What new units would you like to see in the second allied dlc?
I doubt the Canadians will be core units; if they are, then it would only be fair to also have the French get core units. I suspect they will be treated the same as all the other non-British allies have been.

Re: Okay... so is there any factors increase chance of destroying enemies instead of forcing them retreat
Recon cars and light tanks are excellent at chasing down runners. If you don’t currently include them, you should do so and excuses about not having space for them in your deck are malarkey as I’ve included them in damn near every mission that didn’t start me with them. The main reason people don't...

Re: What new units would you like to see in the second allied dlc?
Personally I think Marines should be inactive in the Allied trilogy, as they were used almost exclusively in the Pacific, not in the NA/Med/Euro theatre. Esp. DDay with Marines would be kinda funny (which is 3rd part of course) However, I happily leave that decision to the cam designer. A couple of...

Re: Operation Compass British Tanks
Perhaps it is because they only had a 3-man crew. They didn't have a loader until the Valentine Mk.III. Funny cuz the French tanks aren't penalized for it. Frankly there's a lot of very weird decisions made for many units in this game. Why is every light cruiser represented by a single, unchanging,...

Re: Allies Defiant Reviews
Bomb Alley is an odd scenario that in some respects comes down to attack damage RNG and the mysterious decision-making systems the AI uses on how to attack targets. If the AI dog-piled the destroyers with every bomber in range rather than spreading their bombers over all the destroyers, the mission ...

If you lose a unit and reform it, it will always have at least one star just like a new unit. It doesn't affect already purchased units though.

Re: Allies Defiant Reviews
Hurricanes were used throughout the war and the question of which plane was superior is still very much up for grabs. I'd like to see them with the same air defense and the attack values as the point of differentiation (Hurricanes better atk against heavy bombers, Spitfires better atk against light...

Re: Allies Defiant Reviews
I agree, and I honestly don't love it. It certainly isn't historical! If the Hurricane had just slightly better air defense on its models it'd be a perfectly viable pick. The economic/production reasons why the Hurricane initially had to be relied on can't be replicated in a wargame unless they wan...

Re: Allies Defiant Reviews
Your first mistake ole boy is to assume that OOB units conform to their historical counterparts. Though the Beaufighter excelled in ground attack and naval attack in real life it sucks at both in the game because some dev got it in his head he didn’t want it that way. You were doubly screwed becaus...

Re: Allies Defiant Reviews
You should never have used the Beaufighters, they are quite terrible. A mix of Spitfires and Strategic Bombers will get you through the entire campaign without issue. Well, they're the only ground attack planes the British have until they get the Typhoon. And I had no problems with them until Tobru...
