Wrong light infantry moving sounds in Open Beta v1.6.11
A minor bug, the new African light archers unit in every newly added army list by Open Beta uses the wrong moving sounds. It uses the non-light infantry's moving sounds instead of the light infantry's as it should be.

Re: Net POA Calculator.
Amazing work, but could you please add a sheet of the Foot Swordsmen without the Light Spear capability? It's useful when calculating the POAs of those Foot Swordsmen who are without the Light Spear capability like Ribaulds, Oarsmen, Dismounted Lithuanian Cavalry etc. Thanks a million.

Re: FOG2 Ancient Open Beta v1.6.11 - changelog
However, if these troops were described by Greeks as "hoplites", then it's not unreasonable to assume that they were equipped very similarly to Greek hoplites, who usually (always?) wore a helmet. I presume that Aristobulus and Ptolemy witnessed them from the Macedonian ranks, which was a...

Re: FOG2 Ancient Open Beta v1.6.11 - changelog
I did consider reanimating the Sparabara model, but the problem would be the shield. The huge Achaemenid pavise would be totally wrong for the later period, and even though I could change it's shape with an alpha layer, it would very flat and not be dished like an Aspis/hoplon. It would also suffer...

Re: FOG2 Ancient Open Beta v1.6.11 - changelog
Thanks, but as you say, there is no ongoing art budget (or access to 3D artist's or animator's time) for tweaks like this. We have to do what we can with the existing models. Paul Adaway has done marvels in modding the vanilla models in his own time, but he is not a 3D modeller and hence is only ab...

Re: FOG2 Ancient Open Beta v1.6.11 - changelog
I know, the studio has budget problems, but I still want to give some feedbacks/thoughts about the models of the Kardakes Hoplites, it was my proposal to add them though. Contemporary sources such as Greek artworks suggested that Achaemenid Persians rarely used helmets, including most of their armou...

Re: Adjust the army lists of the Holy Roman Empire between 1400-1449 AD
The minima and maxima of each unit presented are already automatically scaled to the size of the battle. That's another compromised way, though. Is it technically possible to increase the maximum force point limits like the P&S? If you mean the overall total, then it could be modded to allow la...

Re: Adjust the army lists of the Holy Roman Empire between 1400-1449 AD
The current system only works well under the setting of medium and below-sized battles, according to the reasons above, and other examples I didn't have listed. A more compromised way is to add more number of permitted specific units to match the total proportions of the historical army under the s...

Re: Adjust the army lists of the Holy Roman Empire between 1400-1449 AD
It is not perfect, of course, but we prefer it to the alternative. I think we can strike a balance of it instead of being too partial to this or another. I don't see the current system being particularly skewed one way or another. Rounding of the available number of units already tends to favours m...

Re: Adjust the army lists of the Holy Roman Empire between 1400-1449 AD
I think being too sticky to proportions rather than actual numbers is not always a good idea. As we both know, the player can't take all units in the list because the game doesn't provide enough points to do so, and the player can freely select the units as he wants, which makes the system almost m...

Re: Adjust the army lists of the Holy Roman Empire between 1400-1449 AD
A small number of Teutonic and Hospitaller Men-at-Arms should be added to the earlier list, three hundred Hospitallers from the Strakonice participated in the early stage of the Hussite Wars, and some of the Teutonic knights were sent to fight the Hussites too, I think add each one of them is suita...

Adjust the army lists of the Holy Roman Empire between 1400-1449 AD
The following proposals are mainly for the Hussite Wars and to match the Heeresmatrikel(Imperial Register)of 1422 and 1431: The current troop numbers in the 1400-1424 list almost match the numbers listed in the Imperial Register of 1422: https://de.wikisource.org/wiki/Heeresmatrikel_von_1422. So to simplify the discussion: What exactly do you think Kardakes should look like in the game? (Weapons, Armor, Morale, Combat Rating (Mediu...

Re: Add Kardakes/Cardaces to the Achaemenid 419-329 BC and the Seleucid 300-206 BC lists?
At Raphia, you mean? I agree. I am adding the usual Irregular Foot unit to represent any that weren't skirmishing. I was thinking more about these Achaemenid "Kardakes". EDIT: I have not heard of the Seleucid "Kardakes" and therefore I do not comment on this topic. Nothing mythi...
