Re: Core dynamic a bit ahistoric

What does it mean when the game says "Village Uncooperative." Does it mean uncooperative with the VC, or does it mean no intell was obtained, thus, the village was uncooperative with US troops. The voice sounds disappointed so I'm not sure. :?:

I just got this game!

I just bought this from the App Store a few days ago. I'll admit I was apprehensive as I like boring NATO counters and not animated graphics. However, most of the reviews were very positive so I gave it a try. Wow, very easy to learn, but hard to master. I love that there are no menus, with sub menu...

Next patch?

When will we see another patch? They patch Rome 2 Total War almost once a week, but then again, that game really needs it. :D

Re: Steam Release?

What am I missing???? I use Steam for Civ 5 and a few other games, but I would never not buy a game because it was not on Steam. I guess the advantage is you never have to worry about anything, no disks, no keys, no searching for the latest patch. It's all there and it's all done for you linked to ...

Re: Steam Release?

I'm curious. I have Steam and I have bought games through it. I have no complaints with it and I like it. However, I also buy games that are not on Steam...no problems there either. So, why the Steam or nothing stance? Steam games are not anymore stable than game bought off of Steam, at least, in my...

Re: New Unique Faction Traits

I like what you stated there mjm800 ... I would change two of the factions for the reasons stated: Divine would be better suited to affect "morale" in other factions cities because of its religious impact and the possibility to convert ideologies. (Ability to affect other factions city morale) And ...

I like this just a join city button would all that would be needed to make this work.

Re: New Unique Faction Traits

What if you add 6 new operations, one for each faction exclusively? Perhaps along with new unique traits. Good idea. Terra can have an operation that used the planet as a weapon. Causing natural disasters in enemy territory destroying building in a city. Togra can crippled your research for a few t...

Re: Response to critics.

Here's how I feel. I am 100% convinced the dev's know what should and should not be in a 4x game. I highly doubt they had the budget or a huge development team like Firaxis. I am sure they made the best game they could with what they had. The game is very stable and very moddable. I've been able to ...

Anyone notice AI units disappearing in 1.1.7?

I'm using the beta and I noticed that AI units will just absorbed into the ground. Is this a bug or is the AI disbanding units in the field while we are at war? There was no combat, they were not killed. It's like they are in an elevator and just go straight into the ground. It's strange.

Re: New Unique Faction Traits

I think giving Togra a free tech is going a bit too far. They already have a research advantage over the other factions. Rather, I would like them to be able to use their science to maybe get a mineral bonus on tiles with minerals. Everyone should be able to buy territory that was something I was go...

Re: I made a funny mod

That's not a "funny" mod. You just invented the cobalt bomb. +1. You also inspired me to try converting the black hole to a neutron-bomb version: massive damage to personnel, none to structures. should be possible by basically copying the file from bombardment [i.e., damageCities=0] with the power ...

So the wasteland gives damage? or pollution?
Yes, the wasteland gives the damage but the XML file in Features lists it as pollution. I just copied the damage code from Fungus and it worked.

I made a funny mod

I took nukes and gave them a +1 radius. They take out everything within that radius and I gave pollution a 0.5 damage rating. I lowered the nuke damage to 4. When attacked, I nuke all the land approaches enemy forces are traversing and I will even take the hit and nuke hexes near a sieged city. It's...

AI Military Strength Can Be Misleading

I just played a game where one faction had eclipsed me in military strength. I had three dots they had five. When they attacked, they landed with tons and tons of troopers (armed with flame) only. I had mech era tanks with lasers and I had lots of them. My tanks, aircraft, areal bombardment and nuke...

Re: Turning off population growth

I'd rather put some strategy and competition in the mix by allowing factions to manipulate this value (with trade-offs, of course). Not to mention, if growth was hindered by lack of habitation, it would make expansion a bigger priority thus causing border wars and making the game more interesting. ...

Re: Does the AI gang up on you?

Anyways, if you are getting attacked by the AI, it's probably a combination of a weak military and poor diplomacy. It's not my military, I always have "Unrivaled" or close to it, which is why I can survive an attack from three or four factions at once. I basically ignore the AI, no open borders, no...

I've read that growth can be turned off. Is this done by locking the jobs? I could not fine a stop growth button or anything like that. :)

Re: What is or is there an update\feature schedule?

Even if I have to pay for it in an expansion, I want more factions! Six is not enough, by the mech era two are usually gone with another two fading fast. I would like to see at least ten so the game will have more enemies and allies to play with. The factions will last longer and take up more of the...
