I have the same issue. The AI is terrible. The only way to have them win is to put them at least 3 steps above me, or to end up sandwiched between two 2 steps above me. Same issues: ignored resource hexes, troops walking into wire weed and dying, feeding gigantic enslaver armies with cheap infantry....

gladius 1.2.6 (non-vulkan) was fine.

I am playing version 1.2.6 as I cannot play with Vulkan since the specs changed after that version number. I have all DLC up to that point and after what is described maybe I'm not missing anything. Changing difficulty doesn't mean the AI changes its style, just its advantages. Dumb as rocks, but with flag bonuses.

I want the old behaviours back

looks like my system can't work with the vulkan drivers. Had tested a friend's copy and it was fine, but wasn't the latest stuff, so would have been using openGL.

How can I get a refund?

So, bought the bundle, installed it all. 102, 1.05, 1.07

activated every module.

pressed 'play'.


vulkan-1.dll error. nice. fix please.

no logs in log folder
