Re: Order of Battle: World War II - OoB
Since I usually conceptualize my army around fairly static formations, I'd personally like an Order of Battle system that allowed me to create groups of units of arbitrary size with a commander and name associated with them. It'd also be neat if the formation itself had veterancy. The big advantage...

Re: Speeding up the AI in air/naval scenarios
It might. I don't know much about programming and that kind of thing, but I'd imagine the bigger the range, the more actions the AI needs to check and evaluate that range, and so, because there are more actions, it would take the AI more time to process. That's really just a guess on my part, though.

Re: US 3d ID Beta Round 2
Is that why I caught sight of them fleeing when my capture of Avellino was imminent? I crossed the rivers, and with my TacAir I caught sight of the running SPGs. They didn’t get far

Re: What is your favorite MP scenario?
I don’t see Brazil joining the Axis. They were neutral, and freely traded with both sides. Only when they signed a trade deal with the US, and the German started torpedoing their merchants, did they join one side. I could perhaps see Argentina, but another issue arises. How would they get from Argen...

I did have similar issues with San Fratello & Brollo, yes. I’d attribute these occurrences to my
On a separate note, were there Hummels or other similar SPGs at Avellino? It seems weird that SPGs like that were there, in such rough terrain.

Re: US 3d ID Beta Round 2
It seems that loading times (AI thinking, moving, attacking) takes a long time, at least for me, during Landing at Salerno. Not sure if this can be helped, or mitigated.

Re: US 3d ID Beta Round
Zekedia, Thanks! Glad you are playing the campaign and thanks for commenting. Mascarenhas pointed out that the Shermans were already available by Sicily, so I will use them in the final version. I put some airfields on the battlefield but I will make sure that I fix so if a player exits on an exit ...

Re: US 3d ID Beta Round 2
Quick note: On the first briefing slide of Messina, where it lists the slides (S-1, S-2...) it says “breifs,” not “briefs” or “briefings.” Small thing, but I thought I should note it here. Note No.2: It seems there is not enough deployment hexes to deploy the 7th RCT, though there are enough Land CP...

Re: US 3d ID Beta Round 2
San Fratello and Broilo was a good fight! The low class armor (M3 Lee) is restricting, and the opposing artillery did do quite a number, but I was always able to win out. There’s always that brief turn of hesitation where I think “can I win?”, and then I bring the whole division to battle and they g...

Re: How do you spend your time in OOB?
I usually play custom campaigns (Erik’s North Africa ones are absolutely AWESOME!), with Gabe’s Mod. I’ve played the campaigns, I have interest in (The Pacific ones), and so I don’t usually play official campaigns that much. Usually I spend my time either knocking out a scenario on my (still unrelea...

That display file is usually within the “graphics” folder, under units, at least when new units are added in mods.

Re: Changes to the Unit System
I prefer SAS over paratroopers, because unlike paras, SAS has the guerrilla trait (IIRC). It’s annoying at best, and dooming at worst to move in jungle without that trait. They are also HALF the CP cost, and thus can mount doubly sized operations. Usually I’ll still include one in any airborne opera...

Re: Changes to the Unit System
The entire point of commandos is not to be frontline units. They work fine for my purposes (dropping them on airfields, sabotaging them and nearby supply points, while destroying any grounded aircraft). I’ve accumulated 4.5 to 5 star SAS commandos this way (Burma campaign). I do agree they need some...

Re: Changes to the Unit System
I’m not sure why there is all this quibbling in a game with all sorts of fantasy or never deployed units in the tank and AT tab and in scenarios over whether weapons with an actual capability that they did in fact use merit inclusion with that capability. To me this seems straightforward. No one sa...

I would also like that. Also just more ships. Torpedo boats, minelayers, minesweeper, subchasers, more tenders, auxiliary cruisers and seaplane tenders, all ships that just don’t exist.

Re: US 3d ID Beta Round 2
What is the income for Axis forces? It seems, particularly with the Artillery, the don’t repair at all. I’m okay with this, having that much artillery to destroy would get annoying fast, but its just a matter of curiosity

Re: Changes to the Unit System
On the conscripts, yes, I think Russia should have the conscripts option. If not for actual use by players, for scenario creators. However, it makes sense to have “conscripts” for nations that were basically defending the homeland, on the brink of being conquest. The “Volunteer Fighters” fill this ...
