Re: Tile/Square dimension in Pike & Shot

Cool. Thanks.

It seems like P&S tiles should be bigger but I think that has to do with what I mentioned above about the scale differences. It really throws me off jumping from one game to the other and readjusting the way I envision the distances due to how the units are presented.

Tile/Square dimension in Pike & Shot

I have a decent grasp of the tile size in FoG II using some descriptions found in the manual along with doing some basic math. However, I can't find anything in the P&S manual (or this forum for that matter) that gives an idea of what the dimensions of one square might be. I was assuming they'd be b...

Re: Steam Workshop?

I don't own Empires but I feel I can safely answer judging by the 8 or so titles I own from this site. Everything I've seen, be it scenario or mod, is either downloaded within the game itself or someone posts an external link for you to manually DL and install. I don't have any Slitherine games that...

I also like the idea of generals adding to the rout percentages. It gives them more value than they have now.

VERY nice work! Glad to see someone is still interested in this game. Just because something is older doesn't mean it isn't worthy of attention. I look forward to your future creations.

Re: Scale of the square

How did you estimate it? I thought it is: 1 square = 200x200 paces. 1 pace ~ 0.75m (~ 2,5 feet I used to be a chainman on a survey crew. We'd estimate distances when pulling a steel measuring tape (so we wouldn't keep stopping and looking). We'd use an estimate of one stride being 3 feet. So 16 str...

Re: Scale of the square

I estimated it about 180X180 feet but I think it may be closer to 200. I did a list based on 180 a month or so ago. I actually went outside and paced it off to get an idea of just how big the area would be. I wanted to be able to visualize it better. FoG II Terrain Scale 1 tile = 180 feet 29.32 tile...

Re: Future DLC?

Absolutely wanna see this! Mord. Honestly the game is unsuited for sieges. Sieges would require an entire game designed from scratch on their own. Since so very few sieges ended by assault, it would have to take into account: 1) Cavalry skirmishes for control of the countryside 2) Both armies food ...

Re: 75 different army lists ?

I actually researched this about four months ago. I came up with 78 for some reason. Ancient British 60 BC - 80 AD Apulian 420-203 BC Arab 312 BC - 476 AD Armenian 331 BC - 252 AD Armenian (Tigranes) 83-69 BC Atropatene 320-145 BC Atropatene 144 BC - 226 AD Bithynian 297-74 BC Bosporan 348-85 BC Bos...

Being able to rewatch a turn would be very cool. I think all games should include that. It's an excellent tool for AARs, DARs, and video/screenshot production.

Re: Is there any plan on mid medieval, late medieval or even renaissance DLCs?

Don't get me wrong, I don't think P&S graphics are horrible, but they are extremely limiting in the way they were done, which was fine for the first time around. It's always like that when breaking new ground. I just don't think it would be a good idea to go back to that same style, especially seein...

Re: Is there any plan on mid medieval, late medieval or even renaissance DLCs?

Well, for what it's worth better graphics are always desirable over lesser graphics. That's something that the die-hard wargamers need to grasp instead of holding onto the whole "I don't care what the graphics look like its the game play that matters!" That's how the genre stagnates and keeps a thou...

I should've never used the word "kill". I basically said it because that's what we've always called the list whether it was dead guys or wounded guys or whatever.
