Re: Favorite advanced tips?

Thanks for sharing your thoughts about the British units. Just remembered a little trick that I like to use with my recon units, to make them effectively scout a much larger area than they should, I've just used it in the First Alamein scenario to see if Rommel AI was trying to flank my defensive po...

Re: Favorite advanced tips?

Some good tips here. I was always a fan of air traps from PG2 days, sometimes could string a chain of 3 of them :D Noticed the AI in this game loves to target certain units, like Panzerflams or Pioneers. Loved learning the hidden mechanics in PC, learned a lot from Braccada, the game is much deeper....

Favorite advanced tips?

Since there's a lot of very experienced players around I'm sure they have a lot of tips and tricks that they discovered during the years :D Started playing the Allied Corps campaign with only British units and loving the scenario designs, realized how incredible their Chevy-WB recon unit actually is...

Re: Self-restriction ideas to spice up a campaign?

I wouldn't insult the AI too much, they might remember it when they take over the world at some point :D A bit of a rant, but sometimes I get stuck with the restart syndrome because I can't decide how to play (games in general), feels like there's an eternal battle going on between the hardcore powe...

Re: Self-restriction ideas to spice up a campaign?

Thanks for the feedback guys. Yeah, keeping track of things is an issue, ideally the rules have to be something simple and yet effective, I should just make an effort not to use the same overpowered unit like the Churchill Mk IV. Looked at the link and Braccada's playthrough looks interesting, but t...

Re: Self-restriction ideas to spice up a campaign?

Forgot to mention that the fact that all of our units get heroes, often amazing ones, and also a ton of SE units, it doesn't seem fair compared to the AI that doesn't seem to get any heroes and very few stronger SE units.

Self-restriction ideas to spice up a campaign?

Did anyone think of any fun ideas to spice up the gameplay and the campaigns, with self-restrictions and such? For example, last couple times when I played a campaign on Rommel/General difficulty sometimes it seemed a bit unfair when powergaming and min-maxing everything, always using only the stron...

Re: Need some help on hero attributes

Haha, finally learned all the missing stuff about game mechanics, everything makes perfect sense now. The devs have really done a fantastic job in balancing everything.

Re: Need some help on hero attributes

Somewhere on this site is a full list of the odds for both direct attacks and indirect attacks (AA, Art, Strategic bombers) and explanations of the effect of initiative, weather etc.which may be of interest. Does anyone know where exactly on the forum? That's an amazingly detailed post captainjack,...

Re: This is surely a bug?

Sounds like a relatively simple thing to fix for the developers, if they're aware of it.

Re: This is surely a bug?

That's a bummer. I'll try not to abuse it then, since I'm on my first GC playthrough and it's a blast playing it blind.

This is surely a bug?

https://i.imgur.com/i3a9IHh.jpg Just realized that all of my strategic bombers can sort of scan city hexes and airfields for enemy units, I noticed that earlier but wasn't really paying any attention to it. Even though I don't have vision of those hexes I'm still getting the real battle odds like y...

Re: Pz3's versus Pz4's thoughts

A bit late to the discussion but I've had this debate in my head recently as well. After taking everything into account I concluded that PzIV was the clear winner and that PzIII was not worth investing in. PzIV just completely dominates soft targets and that smaller period where PzIII is slightly st...

Re: SUPER GREAT NEWS I AM ON YOUTUBE

Haha, well you can check out a few random game streamers to see what it's all about but I guess I can explain what it is in short, many are making quite a living from it because anyone viewing can directly donate to streamers or subscribe to them for like 5$ per month to help support them. You can a...

Nice to see another great player sharing his gameplay on Youtube. Perhaps you should also look into Twitch streaming in the future, those two kinda go hand in hand nowadays.

Re: A couple questions

Thanks for the replies guys. Planes over the enemy units will prevent supply/reinforcement if it is a clear day, if cloudy or inclement it has no effect. Planes adjacent to a unit have no effect. Wait, you're not saying that 1 plane above the enemy unit is enough to completely prevent both supply an...
